The solo stuff he did more recently however...

Well, we don't talk about that.

Amen to that.

I don't know what you people are talking about. He never went solo. You're hearing lies and hearsay.

Kind of like bagpipes. They don't actually exist, they're just an elaborate, cruel joke played on the rest of the world by the Scots.

Yeah, I hate bagpipes. Our school did a little memorial thing for 9/11 last year, and they had someone play bagpipes. It was about the most unfitting/godawful music ever, and I am a bit ashamed to admit I started laughing a bit(and I was really trying to stay solemn too).

That, and Victor Wooten is basically the Final Boss of Bass Guitar.

Heh, he came and played at our school. It was pretty awesome.

Very nice. I've only had the luck of catching Bela Fleck in concert, while playing with N'goni Ba, and several musicians from Africa. Really cool concert though. However, I can't understand how you don't like Bagpipes! Like any instrument, it just needs to be played right. Like here, or arguably here

Bag pipes are up there with accordions as some of the most awesome instruments, assuming you've got someone who knows how to play them.

It's weird, because most of the hardcore I've heard isn't hardcore at all, it's scene kids singing in whiny voices about their broken hearts, interspersed with toneless shrieking.

Which is about as far from hardcore as you can get.

The bands that call themselves "hardcore" as a genre are usually an offshoot of punk, and in turn spawned the Emo movement.

What I'm talking about is stuff like Five Finger Death Punch. Incidentally, they do an awesome cover of Bad Company's "Bad Company" (from the album Bad Company.)

Grinderman (new album out soon ...) interspersed with the occasional Ben Folds, (early) Gomez, and anything else involving Nick Cave and / or the bad seeds.

Also Fleetwood Mac, because, why not.

Me too, actually.

Mostly, I listen to classical music (symphonies, violin solos, etc.), Chinese opera, some OSTs, and a bunch of traditional music (Peruvian, blueglass, etc.).  Also some French ... pop, I guess?  I don't know what Daniel Lavoie counts as, now that he's 65 or something.  And stuff by Chitose Hajime ("island singing" in the Ryuku style).

Meh.  My tastes are eclectic, at best, and they tend to not involve many bands.  The only one I listen to is Due West.
