Yes. Pure baroque only composes about 2% of my music, but also composes most of my favorite. Do you have any pieces you would recommend?

Imagine a cool peice of sky-blue and milk-white marble about 3cm by 2cm and by 0.5cm, containing a tiny 2mm malacolite crystal. Now imagine the miles of metamorphic rock it's embedded in that no pick or chisel will ever touch. Then, imagine that those miles will melt back into their mantle long before any telescope even refracts an image of their planet. The watchers will be so excited to have that image too.

Are you looking at early period or late period stuff? For early periods, I recommend Scheidt (mostly organ), Frescobaldi and Carissimi. For late, you should look up Couperin, Quantz (flute) and the big 4 of late Baroque, who would be Vivaldi, Handel, Pachelbel and the man himself, J. S. Bach.

 Well, I was after new pieces done in the same vein, but since I don't know all those on your list, this works. Here's two of what I speak.

Jazz: John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Art Pepper, Billy Holiday, ect.

Down Tempo: Baby Mammoth, Bonobo, Massive Attack, ect.

Alternative: Sneaker Pimps, Interpol, She Wants Revenge, ect.

If you're looking for something a little more heavy and dark, look up Yngwie Malmsteen. A song of his you may particularly like is "Baroque and Roll."

Other artists I would recommend are Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Joe Stump, Marty Friedman and Buckethead.
