Can I still login with this Linux box? I don't mind using Windows, I just like this Linux machine more.

Also, dev or stable?

I have no idea how your linux thing works, but knock yourself out!

Also whatever version you prefer.
I always played experimental and never had any issues with it.

It looks like there's only a stable version right now.

I'll show up if I remember, which I probably won't. :)

It works just like wesnoth on windows, I'm asking if need steam to connect to the game.

I've never had any issues with the dev either, I vote for dev.

You shouldn't need Steam, it's not a Steam game.

I'm using 1.8.3

You don't need to, but it would make things easier.
Because we can meet up at our community chatroom there and discuss the details.

Elves are pretty good, but knowing how to play campaign mode will not make you good in multiplayer.

I learned that the hard way in Starcraft...... time to grind multiplayer battles till I can atleast stand a chance!

There doesn't seem to be a development version up for download. I'll go ahead and compile 1.8.3 tomorrow.

I was quite good with all the races, although I prefered dwarves and draconians.

Fortunately the game is pretty straightforward and the ingame wiki covers pretty much everything.

Oh yes, a few years ago, when I first learned about wesnoth, I just had to play a few hundred games against myself just to get all the units leveled up and have their encyclopedia entries unlocked.
