So, I got Disgaea to the NDS and it's different from the PS2 version. Been having quite a bit of fun with it.

Oh yeah, I've got that one too.

I'd reeeaaally like to try Disgaea with everything everyone has said about it. I will, one of these days.

Why wait?
You can get it on PS2, PSP, or DS.

My current Only-Etna Run is not doing well though.

I want the new one that's coming soon. I hope there's a decent PSP emulator somewhere. >.<

There isn't (well, wasn't last time I checked, i.e. a few months ago). There's a java one that can run a few things, barely, but a fully functional, fairly compatible PSP emulator just doesn't exist at th'mo.  :-\

The java one does look pretty promising. Too lazy to hunt down its forum for linkage, though :P

PCSP is lower functioning than JPCSP as far as I know, being a C remake of it.

I found that Disgaea runs better on a PS2 emulator than on a DS emulator. Weird.

I haven't played too many other DS games though. Castlevania is always fun, Advance Wars Days of Ruin is a welcome break from the classic series' setup. Scribblenauts are fun, of course.

Days of Ruin is fun, but has less replay value than the other Advance Wars who just have that much stuff. DoR has the campaign and some bonus maps and that's been it. I love the game, but I've pretty much done everything worth doing there already.

Etrian Odyssey is not a Roguelike, but rather a game like Wizardry. If you do like old RPGs like that, do give it a shot. It's very old-school, right down to blatantly palette-swapped enemies, music done on an old synthesizer, and having to do your own maps (although you can make the game do that, partially). Oh, and it's HARD, and requires its fair share of grinding... not really that much though. Entirely bearable.

Disgaea DS is probably the game I sunk the most time in with a DS game, and I don't play games that much.

I have 50 hours I think, which is to say, A LOT for me.

How much is Disgaea DS different from Disgaea PS2, anyway? Disgaea DS is basically a DS port of a PSP remake, and the only meaningful change I'm aware of is the "Etna mode". Also, in DDS attacking prinnies don't shout "Ha, dood!" :)

They couldn't fit most of the talking audio and the game lags a bit sometimes but come on it's Disgaea for the DS.

Yeah, I'm saving up money for a DS here, and DDS is one of the reasons. Others being Infinite Space (been wanting to properly play that one), (Super) Scribblenauts, and various Castlevanias and Advance Warses. Oh, and Wario Ware: Touched!. Plus any decent jRPGs I come across.

Yeah, DDS is an excellent and entertaining way to waste hours upon hours upon hours. I've been asked more than once why I am giggling uncontrollably (the reason were Flonne posing as a team and... actually, every single damn cutscene, I wonder how much more hilarious it would be with the voice-acting.)

These were 38.99€ well spent. Actually, I'm German, so I should be happy I got it at all.
