After collecting a few rats as proof you killed them, you return to the compound. upon your arrival, you return to the Admin building to get your reward.

"Alright, I believe that you killed them, but we can't pay you until we have a count. I'll send over some people to check. for now, go and get a meal, and a rest."

Travis heads back to the mess, slightly hungry. Upon arriving he orders himself some food and a small amount of vodka, or failing that, beer. He then heads over to a table with lots of people and strikes up a conversation with a woman.

"Good eve, what may a sweet mistress like yourself be doing in a tavern such as this?"

Leon, now in the mess, wonders why Travis is calling him a 'sweet mistress'.

Leon heads to the mess and sits down with a few of the folks he recognises from before, describing in great detail the sight of the burning rats and the vampire-wolf and his success with his flute, and then listening to their stories.
