GURPS
« on: July 25, 2010, 07:17:28 am »

I've been thinking of getting into GURPS recently, sadly nobody in my area plays it. I wonderend if any of you people on here would be kind enough to GM a game with me and some others on the forum. I have the two basic rulebooks, most if not all of the WW2 books and I have read through the lite rulebook, so I have decent knoledge of the rules.

Any takers?

You really can both sig it.
But... That would break the laws of sigging! We can't have everyone running around with the same quotes. IT MAKES THEM UNFUNNY FASTER!

GURPS is like D&D, only in WWII? I might be able to play, but GM'ing one game is enough for me at the moment.

GURPS is the Generic Universal Roleplaying System, a fairly simple RPG system that can be used for just about any scenario or campaign. There are quite literally hundreds of supplement books for different settings that are incredibly in depth and each one about 50 - 200 pages long! I personally prefer it to DnD because it is very general and isn't just good for one setting.

I'm looking for another RPG to play, at least over the Summer, so I'd like to take part, too.
I have no prior experience with GURPS (mainly played a variation of Cyberpunk 2020, D&D4, Savage Worlds, etc) but would be more than happy to learn (I like trying new systems).

I want to try, the few other ones I've tried to join have died.  :(

I could probably get a hold of them from various people. Is there a particular version/edition I should look for?

I can upload the rulebooks for you if you don't have them. Although I do reccomend downloading the light rulebook first and having a flick through that.

Just so that you are aware, it's possible to play entirely without using a gameboard at all.
