You know how most games trying to make a real world point suck? I have found the exception.

Can you survive as a virtual third world farmer, and make the world around you a better place? Or will you die, like so many others? I find this game very fun, with my only real complaint being a lack of music. So get somthing set up in the background if you need audio stimulation.

Yeah, I never figured that out either. I guess you could sell the ivory, but that doesn't explain them not dying off every year.

Oh yes, the game events are shitting on me, and its rather tedious placing crops one by one.

I remember this game. Its built to fuck you over.

Though being the roguelike players we are, we're determined to beat the games that are built to fuck us over.

First game, I watched as my village slowly crumble to it's end and struggled for 23 turns. Second game, I worked a lot when the family was still healthy, it paid off and in the end I retired the village with 17000 dollars, many elephants, years of education for all the kids and every single facility. It took 17 turns of hard work.

'Elephants Help' likely refers to them pulling equipment or helping plow.

I find the easiest way to win is to plant peanuts and pray that the random events dont screw you over.

I just managed to have the potential to win on day 7 but chose to continue playing. The whole bountiful harvest on the first year helped a lot.
So I sent two uneducated kids to be married to presumably decent spouses, and 2 fully educated kids to be married to presumably much better spouses. I ended the game with both parents healthy and 60 years old, with my youngest son being 18 and fully educated, after realizing that with that $100k in my savings I could pay for my son to go to college in the west if that was actually a game mechanic.
Does anyone remember the name of that other game where you start as a random person anywhere throughout the world and just try to survive? It's in the same vein as this game..
