So, I was surfing the Bay 12 forums. Specifically, this board. WHEN I DISCOVER THAT WE HAVE A CRITICAL SHORTAGE OF POKEMON LP THREADS (a.ka. none).

Nature abhors a vacuum. Especially a screwed-up version of nature that includes biologically impossible animals.
So, without further ado, I present:
POKEMON EMERALD!


For those uninitiated in the mysterious world of Pokemon, the story is this: You, a ten-year-old boy/girl, sets out from some backwoods town in the middle of nowhere, with just one Pokemon to defend you from the various horrors of the natural world (talk about irresponsible parenting!). Your goal is to acquire (hopefully through legal means) Pokemon gym badges, to qualify for the Pokemon League. Along the way, due to the lack of any army or police force whatsoever, you will have to take down various shady characters, often plotting to unleash some doomsday force upon the world at large.

tl;dr:Don't think about the logic of it too much.

So, to provide some form of player interaction, you get to choose a pokemon, which will bear your name upon it. Also, you can state your opinions on which pokes I should use on the team, what moves they should have, where should I go next, how many innocent wild pokes I should slaughter faint, etc. Basically, stuff about the game.

The Rules
Nicknames can be up to 10 letters and include numbers, spaces, etc.
Only one pokemon can be reserved per forumite
-However, you can choose another pokemon if your pokemon is not currently in the main team
Pokemon that are not available yet can still be reserved, you just have to wait longer for me to catch them

Specific pokemon. I don't want people reserving the tenth pokemon, then getting mad when it turns out to be a Magikarp or something.

Also, in the case of evolution, you can request a name change to better fit the pokemon.

P.S. Firefox doesn't recognize "pokemon" as a word, but it accepts "Pokemon".
