Unfortunately, our "Family" here has seven members, Esteban, Retro, Joe, InsJoe, Red Baron, Wolf and Acid Trip. Who should we use?

Joe isn't all that good now, but he'll become a psychic powerhouse in about 30 so levels and could help us with the second gym

InsJoe, being Water/Flying could help us with the first and second gyms, but he'll be at a large disadvantage against the third.

Same goes for Red Baron, but he can't help us for the time being

Wolf won't be that good for a while either, having no dark moves yet, however his typing makes him immune to Psychic, which is a big bonus.

Acid Trip could help as he gains a fighting type after evolution, along with high Attack, but his Grass typing is highly disadvantageous.

Retro and Esteban will probably be in the team for a very long while.

Red Baron isn't all that great at the first few gyms, but he's fantastic for dealing with the trainers in-between them. And if you get him high level enough he can bring down one, maybe two of Brawly's Pokemon. To prevent much grinding when you get there, I say keep him.

Yeah, there's no need for him soaking up valuable experience that can go to Don Esteban de Stu or Retro the fierce Zigzagoon of ph4t loot. He can fight later on, when he's essentially a minor deity.

No, he learned confusion already. I'd say Acid Trip is the most useless for now.

Rock types typically have terrible Special Defense, as far as I remember, so Confusion should tear them to shreds. Or gravel, as it were.

EDIT: Roxanne's Nosepass is a beast, though.

Some Bulbapedia research indicates you can hit up gym leaders for rematches in Emerald. That ought to be great for EXP!

Yeah, but we have Esteban... I can't remember if he's just water or water/ground but both pwnzorz rock types anyhow so the first gym's lineup is moot with the Don at the forefront. I think if we have Red Baron out as our main Flyer and put InsJoe away that's a good lineup (Joe needs training despite current poor state, we already have a water type so Red Baron covers it). With sufficient training Wolf could hold up his end of the team too.

I'd say that Acid Trip should be boxed. Fighting is good against Steel, Rock and Dark. Grass is good against Ground, Rock, and Water. Esteban covers all these, save for dark.

Does anyone else read these LPs and think that a graphically advanced, non-isometric Pokemon MMO would be fantastic?
