So, this is basically the other battle + allies/weaponry?

In that case: Revya

I couldn't really find a good article on him... basically he's possessed by a pseudo-god and so is able to summon allies to fight for him. He's also strong enough to destroy ANYTHING, but since doing so would mean giving the evil god inside him full control he would rather die than do so. in other words: his omnipotence will not really come up.

Mine would have to be Raidou Kuzunoha the XIV. He looks awesome, he can summon demons (Hellz yeah) and hes also a detective.

I thought this was like the other battle + allies/weaponry + politics and scheming and tricking eachother + having some standardized troups enough to even out the raw power.

Pretty much this.
This is meant to be more of a who can win the mind games and defeat the other person/their troops.

He has way more then that, also if we allowing friends I think he is quite well off. The four heroes, the four armies, all the other sleuths. I think he is well off indeed.
