I stuck through to the end... Needless to say it was an interesting story with some weird moments in it. The Artist is kinda weird but so are the other comics in it, (one ends with a September 11th) none the less I am glad that I am no longer wanting to read it...

Were there two cats? Did the one she was sheltering die and she buried it and someone else found a completely unrelated cat, possibly years later judging by the size of the flower bed?

The cat that she was with in the box, was a kitten, died and somehow buried by Nana.  You see her finish digging the grave... her final resting place also. 

The 2nd cat belonged to that girl with the limbs attached... most likely unrelated and most likely the following spring time... it was winter when she croaked...

Yeah, the gravy is why I was like "waitwat," because how the hell do you make gravy with no limbs. Second, the art style makes it hard to tell what's going on because everyone in the same demographic looks exactly the same (except for hair... sometimes).

Diclonius (the species that Nana is) can destroy or heal other beings but it's taxing on them physically. Nana resurrected the cat but it tore what was left of her body to pieces. In a final act of "Screw it, I'm going to die anyway" she made the flowers bloom. This action literally disintegrated her.

I'm saying why have her dig a grave if she's supposedly resurrecting it? That makes no sense. Therefore the resurrection theory is unlikely. Meaning there are two cats and an unspecified amount of time must have passed.

So basically I'm just saying the Leonon/TVtropes solution doesn't make sense.

She died. she buryed the kitten that died and then she went to sleep, she wakes up and has a last line or two and then she dies. The last slide is some time after where the flower in the pot must have spread.
