This game I love, I must have it.

Capitalism, ho!

Thanks for the thread, Ochita. I'd never heard of the game 'fore now, and it's great fun. Except the little girls.

                                                                          HATE.

Do not want the little evil females. Ahh, they're breakin' mah fricken heart, c'mon buy my crap, it's cheap already, you want a deal? Here's a deal. No? What, you want that I should starve tonight? You should want that my eleven children starve tonight? An insult? What is this, a charity? GET OUT OF MAH STORE YOU SIMPERING LITTLE ... !

I hope the full release is soon'ish, I'll buy it.

What's that little girl? You're leaving my store because you don't want to pay 7000 monies for an apple? Oh well that's a shame.

Oh man, that was great! Managed to make the first payment on day 8, then the demo ended.

Does it end there if you fail to make the payment? From the something awful thread, it seems like not... If so, I'll just have to intentionally fail from now on!  :D

No, failing to make the payment is just Game Over. I accidentally bought a top of stuff on day 7 and couldn't earn it back in one day... luckily I had saved the day before, so I only had to backtrack a little.

The game would have done well to have autosave but that's nothing the translators can really fix unless they really, really beg the japanese developers.

I just finished the demo, any idea where I can purchase the full version? Google only seems to be able to find the demo version.
I can read Japanese so I don't mind if it's untranslated.

Spoiler: The demo ending... (click to show/hide)

Sadly, the only place I could find it for sale was here:
http://egs-soft.info/product/recet/itaku.html
It seems that the full version is not available for DL.

According to the SA thread, they're heavily suggesting an early august english release. And all my $20 will belong to them. :D

Apparently, there is also going to be another demo next week. Although it's mainly a bug and typo fix, with the exception of this:
Quote
- Upon reaching Merchant Level 6 and 7, various errors start popping up, such as Caillou appearing at the shop (with scenes in Japanese) and errors when trying to change the walls or carpets (although the actual selection still works fine). Congratulations, you've achieved the demo's equivalent of the Pac-Man split screen bug in that we didn't think anyone could get  this high. This will be corrected on recompile!
This looks like a promising game.

V. addictive game.

I found it enjoyable and immersive while playing, but I don't think I'll replay the demo at least.  One bad end, one good end, and a second good end where I made it through the second dungeon.

As for the full version, I'll wait until it's discounted to at least $10.  $20 is probably a reasonable price, but I have so many unplayed games waiting for me (because of Steam's holiday sale and summer sale events), plus I probably spend 40% of my playing time with Dwarf Fortress.

Maybe if someone tells me that the second dungeon continues even after the 5th level door.  It has the magical stairs down.  Maybe I'll buy the best armor available and descend until Louie dies.

recettear is the main character's names stuck together, and also sounds like racketeer.
