GIANT BIRD THAT WILL PICK US OFF ONE BY ONE<EVERYBODY
Sure why not?
Where's your proof that we're stronger? As far as we know we could have bones that fracture as soon as someone touches them.

What is more logical, nine people working together can defeat a fairly large bird or CRAW CRAW I EAT YOU ALL AND THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO TO STOP ME BECAUSE I AM ALL POWERFUL CRAW CRAW.

Besides it is a bird, if anyone has weak bones it is it.

Fine. We don't have to be a team. We're just 9 guys in a giant pixel orgy at the moment, there is no love there. Cript and I will be badass and fight the bird. You guys just go cry somewhere.

If it is in the air, picks one of us up and kills us what will the other 8 do?

Look, I think this is how it will play out.
2 Regular Humans with No Weapons
1 Giant Raven that could probably substitute for a Giant Hawk

Giant Raven Swoops down picks up one of you in it's beak/claws and either lethally drops or devours you. Same happens for the next.

Guys, compare this situation in Dwarf Fortress thinking:

9 unarmed kobolds against one giant eagle.

Who do you think will win?

Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

Well it would be 7 Kobolds because 2 used their sneaking skill to get the feck out and live in a Dwarven Fortress as Appraisers and Bookkeepers.

We're Bay12er's. If there is a bug, we will find it, exploit it, and make a recursive statue out of it. Just look up Planepacked.

On second thought, those brave souls have moved me, and I will join in the attack.

Goodbye guys. Despite this being the worst thing you could do the first turn in the game I'm still hoping you guys win.

and you think you can outrun the raven? Why not just make weapons and dig in? That has a lot less openings than just running for the hills...

I think I'll amend my action to hiding after I am a suitable distance away.

Turn 2

Japa, Bandages, Huge head and Criptfeind pick up rocks and sticks from the ground while Nirur, Phantom and Tarran run to the Left.  Phantom and Tarran have failed to hide due to the illumination from a nearby fire.

As the team of 4 to the right look up with weapons in hand, they see the Raven has taken to the sky.  "You think I'm some normal talking raven?  You'll belittle me, nevermore."  It caws again, louder, more urgently.  The thunder cloud grows darker yet and drifts lazily to the left on a light breeze.  It violently rumbles from the heavens as the running trio are blocked by a small cliff.  They look up from their pit - which was blown open by the previous thunder strike.  The cold bedrock and soil layer exposed, their only warmth being a small blaze on the hill above.

Night approaches and a chill sets into everyones bones.

New rule discovered: A slope greater than 5 pixels may not be walked up.

New rule discovered: The maximum distance a pixel may move per action is 75 pixels.

New rule discovered: Multiple actions are permitted, but all additional actions have half their usual chance of success.  Actions are haulted upon the first failed action.
