An interesting thing I've found
« on: July 22, 2010, 07:44:19 pm »

My mom just showed me an interesting little device. According to her, and I have little doubt that she has no idea what she's talking about, it's a radio transceiver that can locate the source of a transmission. Despite her being a moron, I'm willing to be that's what it is. Of course, I have no idea how it works.

So, what's it to it?

... Yes, the hugs are for everyone.  No stabbing, though.  Just hugs.

Those have existed for ages, they used them to navigate airplanes before GPS.

They still use them as a backup to guide planes onto a runway in case of very poor conditions.

Do another 9-11 for lulz.

Yeah, I be careful with jokes about 9/11. Be very, very careful. And never give out your address afterwards, ever.

It's been almost 9 fuckin' years.
You'd think people would just get over it.

It's an event that's had a major role in shaping the world we live in today. And, it was an incredible tragedy that occurred very recently (within the decade). People are not going to get over it any time soon so you're going to want to watch what you say extremely carefully.

Also, complaining or acting incredulous about the fact people haven't gotten over it yet? What? There's a word for that. It starts with P and ends with thetic.

Okay, so, today this girl I know-Lauren, just took a sudden dis-interest in talking to me. Is she just on her period or something?

It's like telling someone to just get over the Holocaust. Some events stick around longer than others in the too soon catagory, actual loss of life nonwithstanding.
