In the wise words of Gandalf the grey, "Run you fools!"

And wait, wait-wait-wait-wait-wait... is there any information on the ship as to HOW the people of earth are to cultivate this energy in a safe and productive way?

They should figure it out.

We should stay and study the oculoids, Rusty will explain everything to earth and they will send out a better equipped expedition...

...cough.

If only it was so easy to draw the actual ending :\ Drawing this is taking forever. I'm thinking late Saturday.

I was thinking more along the lines of this legendary champion, all clad in dented and dinged up steel plate, his blood-drenched axe slung over his back, a notch in the handle for every enemy that saw the swing of that blade as the last sight they ever saw, a battered shield strapped over his arm... and a fluffy, pink stuffed hippo hidden discretely in his breastplate.

Wait, thats not the ending? maan, what better way to go out than in a interrupted redemption by a cosmic event that kills everything without even being scathed. Thats the way of an adventurer: either slain by a level 0 rat, or by a level over 9K planetary body.

Okay, this is the final update, epilogue notwithstanding. I’m no good at flash or anything like that, so as much as I’d like to synch this to some music I’ve whipped up for the occasion, I really can’t. That said: There is some music, about two minutes long, and I can only hope that it synchs up with your reading of the update decently well (it probably will run way too long! but in your imagination it will run exactly perfectly). Headphone it up and let's do it.

Spoiler: Round 16.29: Finale. (click to show/hide)

There is no words for this. Managed to read it exactly right to the music to making it even more so... This is probably the best ending to any type of fiction I've ever seen. I wish I could say more but there is really no way I could properly expires the enormous extent to which you rule. You should get this published.

The music is amazing to. I'll be listening to this for a long time after the thread itself is buried.

This ending gave my chills through my spine, the music matched everything so perfectly. Brilliant ending Retro, Brilliant.

Gotta say, once the violin starts playing is when I imagine the running begins, once the drumming begins is when i imagine them running past the Oculoids.
