Hello again! We’re back with Round 13 of Adventure Guy; if you’re new head over to the OP to get yourself quickly up to speed.
Previously on Adventure Guy…
In the goo-coated tentacle-laden room, AG made his way to the broken robot and reclaimed his hat and backpack, giving his old paper hat up to Skree and appointing him Junior Adventurer. He also ‘borrowed’ the broken robot’s arm and finally regained control of two working limbs.
Another note found in the room detailed some of the first interactions between the humans and the oculoids. The last entry, half missing, ended on a somewhat menacing note.
Dragging the robot corpse up to the living room, AG checked an odd-looking spot on its head to discover a panel with a little chip in it. Checking his own head, he found a concealed one and swapped in the other robot’s chip. A memory relay played of the robot finding AG’s unconscious body, dragging him to the medical room, tossing out his broken arm, recharging AG with some electrical wires, borrowing his hat and backpack, then getting surprised, attacked, and killed by the monstrous oculoid in the freezer. AG then replaced his own memory chip and discovered it was broken and not recording – likely related to his amnesia.
As the broken robot discovered Dr. Ferinus’ password in the memory relay, AG used it to open up a new exit in the smithy; a staircase under the anvil that lead to a locker room with weather markings on the doors. He found a labcoat, headless robocorpse, ID card, another page from the map, and a switch (untested), then returned upstairs and used the broken robot’s knowledge of the recharging machine to recharge it.
AG returned to the freezer to find that it had finally heated back up and entered the SEWAGE door to find a disgusting, smelly room with pipes and sludgey gunk pouring everywhere. Gentleman was waiting here as well. Ignoring AG’s questions, Gentleman instead wondered if AG was broken for refusing to carry out the ‘oculoid management protocol’ – dispatchment. AG resisted Gentleman’s maintenance attempts and managed to get a lucky shot off while Gentleman was briefly distracted, knocking him into the sludge. A forehead panel revealed itself after the impact, confirming that he, too was a robot. During the scuffle, Gentleman’s water medallion fell into the sewage basin as well. Little else was here save for another note.
AG began to return to the broken bot but found that the weather doors had locked down, preventing access – hearing a noise from the living room when he had left Skree, he returned to find the oculoid freaking out on the ceiling. He also found a somewhat deranged Gentleman; his lower outer shell and part of his face melted away by whatever liquid was in the sewage room. Gentleman began an unexpectedly vicious barrage of punches and kicks, knocking AG across the room, and continued to beat him repeatedly until he finally let up just before stomping AG’s face in. He began to leave in order to get emergency maintenance, even his vocal program now malfunctioning, and left AG unconscious and unable to move.
You are now the oculoid.
Up until a little while ago you did not have a name or sense of identity, but have since come to answer to the name Skree. Your
was knocked out after being attacked by a scary monster who is around here somewhere, and you are not very good with understanding complex concepts. You find it difficult to understand anything that is not heavily derived from or based on an emotional feeling.
You were feeling agitated a short while earlier, but are now feeling rather peaceful.
. Nope, that’s not going to wake it up. Better think of something else.
