World Building.
« on: July 20, 2010, 09:44:38 pm »

Each poster adds a little to the universe, this will eventually create enough material for a GM to create a roleplaying campaign with.  There is no limit or restrictions on how much you can add, how big the addition is, or even making additions to already created material.  You can create whatever your imagination can dream up, regardless of genre.  We will build off of each other until we can laugh manically and scream "It's Alive!"

Rules
  • For organisation, please title your additions and italicize lore, (like magic cards do)
  • New rules may be proposed by anyone adding material, they must be first, seconded and thirded to become law.

Astrology
The astrology of the world is very dynamic.  Celestial objects seem to move and change their positions during the night.  Often a star may grow brighter than the rest, or vanish from sight.
Some say the heavens show the emotions of the gods, others the emotion of humanity itself.

Heh, be careful as there were two or three like this before and they all ended in chaos. You might end up with a world that has giant donuts for moons, or even wierder stuff.

Also, are you planning on making an RTD out of this or is it more like a DnD thing?

The many suns the circle around the world move in a complicated dance. Most suns can not be seen expect in the darkest of night because they are blocked by the bigger suns. They say that each sun represents a plane of reality and its movements and size represent its importance.

Okay, just be careful that the whole thing doesn't crash and burn though.

The Mountain of Gromm is the largest in the world, at six miles high.
Gromm is notable for the many shrines to the various gods dotting its interior and exterior. Every standing temple in the world is located within sight of the mountain, as it is considered the last remaining holy place.

You really can both sig it.
But... That would break the laws of sigging! We can't have everyone running around with the same quotes. IT MAKES THEM UNFUNNY FASTER!

Thank you for the concern, but now I have no worries, for crazy is just how I wanted to run this show.

Gromm Flower.
The Gromm Flower is recognised by it's dark green wedge-shaped leaves and it's Orange petals.  When trampled upon the flower releases it's polin into the air.  The numberous razor sharp polin get into the intruders eyes and nose causing infection and blindness if one remains too long.  for this reason, no one travels mount Gromm in the spring.
Tie the cloth around your face, and make the Gromm pilgramige as one who is blind.

Physics does not act upon everything simultaneously. There are seven "updaters" that travel throughout the universe, progressing each particle one step forwards in time. Without the "updaters," no movement (or passage of time, or light, or anything) would be possible.

How does that affect anything at all?

Edit: Do not get me wrong I find the thought cool but how do people even know?

Most of the sentiant life lives in the Epithean Ocean a large expanse of open water.
Epithean Ocean & Gromm Mountain
The Epithean Ocean Encircles the massive peninsula on which Gromm Mountain rests.  The steep slopes of Gromm mountain provide a mass amount of shade from the sky's many suns.  Which make the surrounding sea cool enough for the nomadic sentient sea life to survive.

How does that affect anything at all?

Consider it a "GM's secret note."

Some highly complex structures are able to prevent these updaters from entering, effectively stopping time for anything placed inside one. However, even the slightest modification or damage would cause it to fail completely.

How do you put something in a building like that when anything in the building freezes instantly?
