We need to take into account that a fully-trained Jedi might be able to block 5 attacks a second, but those attacks tend not to so wildly vary in hit location, and they're not coming in so quickly behind each other. On top of that, Luke has barely reached the qualification to become a full Jedi. Most Jedi, at the Knight stage, have 20 some years of experience if not more (and usually more). Luke has 5 years at best, though he obviously has natural talent on his side. That puts him a bit below the the big boys, however.

With that out of the way, how would Luke use his prep time? I'm not seeing what he could do besides train with a drone and meditate with the ghost of Yoda.

That seems a bit too close for her to dare and try. She'd have to sneak up on him first. I think she could do it, but I doubt she'd want to try it until she knows her other options are exhausted.

Well, I don't know. Sarge gets dangerously competent when his shotgun's at risk. Tex would be better off getting a shotgun from somewhere anywhere else.

And yet, if they got prep time, it means they are aware that they are to battle. Luke would know he is at risk, and take measures. In any case, he would have to sneak up on him to be able to shoot, wich is pretty damn hard for soemone with precognitive abilitys. If he has more info, he could very well get a trooper armor. After all, if your tex know that her opponent need a shotgun to be put down, it would be normal that he knows that she will use the shotgun.

What you need to keep in mind, is that Luke doesn't know he's fighting Tex. He knows he's fighting someone on the list of combatants. The participants don't know how the others are doing, they can only be certain they won't fight people they've already beaten. So Luke knows he won't be fighting Canis or Vimes, but not anyone else. That's a lot of people to prepare for, and he's never had any reason besides stealth to wear armor before. I doubt he'd pick now to start.

Because Tex is as Crazy Prepared as they come.

She was not only able to set up the perfect trap for her enemies (who happened to be Freelancers as well-trained as her), she was also able to realize they'd spot the trap a mile away, and use that knowledge to set up an even BETTER trap to completely screw them over.

She wouldn't be going into battle making assumptions, she'd take everything she'd need to take on any enemy she might face.

SPARTANs in their armor can weight about a thousand pounds, and Tex has lifted people in that armor more than once. Besides, she wouldn't need a lot of weapons. At most a shotgun, rocket launcher, battle rifle, and maybe a pistol or two.

In the movies, they didn't come up against a great many automatic weapons, and the number of people shooting at any given time didn't seem to be that high. So I would guess, that with sustained automatic weapons fire over a period of time Tex would be able to overwhelm Luke's defences, even if just because his arms get tired... Alternatively, she throws a tree at him...

In the movies, they didn't come up against a great many automatic weapons, and the number of people shooting at any given time didn't seem to be that high. So I would guess, that with sustained automatic weapons fire over a period of time Tex would be able to overwhelm Luke's defences, even if just because his arms get tired... Alternatively, she throws a tree at him...

Automatic fire would do it. Since the bullets would vaporize, Luke can't deflect them back at Tex. A tree wouldn't work though, he could use the force to grab it. Our only consolation is that it's just as ineffective against Tex as it is against Luke.

Arms tired ? No, he wont tire until she reload, and then the match is  his. She trow a tree, he trows it back with the force. And people are spoiled by videogames. a rocket laucher is not a small thing, it really is a cumbersome thing that would screw her up on the stealth department.

Even so, the rocket launcher would not be a boon to her here, so she'd likely drop it once she found out it was Luke she was fighting.
