This is my domesticated demon horde. As you can tell they make things more interesting inside the fort. As a nice bonus these things will actually be running around inside villages so it's easy for an adventurer to locate one. Guards doesn't seem to mind that you are trying to strangle one of their pets.

The reason behind that none of the demons can fly even though some of them have wings is that it wouldn't really fit with their style. Think of it as the wings are used to give more power to jumps and to look more cool and badass rather than actual flight. Besides if they could fly they would just fall down the chasm all the time.

I'm only using firebreath because fireballs isn't in yet.

These should go into the creature_domestic.txt file and you should replace the standard cat and dog with it (or change the [CREATURE:DOG] to [CREATURE:CERBERUS] and the same with CAT and IMP if you want to keep the old ones).

Do pitlords come with immigrants in fortress mode? and are they trainable?

Also, if we are talking about the same pitlords, shouldnt they be ALOT larger?

All i did so far was some itemcorpse adamantine and messed up spawning speeds for wild animals.

I think they can come with immigrants but the chance is pretty small. No they aren't trainable. They already are one size below dragons and titans, isn't that big enough?

Probably way over the top, but I think it's cool.  I haven't tested it yet, and, uh, I'm kind of afraid to...   :)  If this is feasible, perhaps a toned-down version would be more suitable for gameplay.

I had a thought. No! Don't run! Stay a moment! At least listen to it, c'mon!...

How about a Mutant DF? We could pack all of the involved files together for ease of use. I don't think we can redistribute Dwarf Fort with it though, I'm not sure.

Anyway, we could mutate all of the normal creatures in the game and make it harder. Wolves? Three heads and a size bigger. Elephants? Like, seven trunks or something absurd. Six/eight legs and horns. The madness is not finite. Can you imagine how awesome it could be?  :D

Oh, even better. Goblins and Kobolds; your typical attackers. We could make them into horrible demons; Goblins would be gigantic and have six arms or something. Twice as fast maybe? Six weapons?

Lastly: Steel Elephants. No, scratch that; Adamantine Elephants.

Hmm, I could actually try this in my spare time, although it'd be crazy amounts of work, changing all the body types. I wonder if the insane difficulty would actually be any FUN though.

I thinking packing customized content packs is a great idea.  However, I think it is important to try to balance the game so that while it may be very challenging, it isn't so hard as to be unplayable.  Some of these "monstrosities" might be already too-much by themselves.  If they are to be all packed together (or sorted into appropriate "theme-packs"), the creature details should be reworked to complement each other into challenging, but fun gameplay.

 Just IMHO.  :)

Hum. Maybe we could mutant the player a little, too. But then you have to worry about making it too easy, and in my experience, too hard is a challenge while too easy is 'oft boring.

Maybe we could give the dwarves wings. That'd be creepy. The humans could get extra arms or something. Wait, I think the Elves need extra arms, so they can hug trees more. =\

Ah, anyway. The dwarves could become partially stone/metal and gain a slight damage block to offset the insanity of the enemies. Maybe the Elves could get the wings, makes more sense, and Elves are already sort of weak what with armor restrictions. The humans with extra arms sort of makes sense, but I'm not sure how useful they would actually be in combat.

Edit: On the other hand, maybe it's more fun to fight against all these mutated enemies and not also be one? I suppose that's a preference of the player.

You can edit and redistribute the raws, but you can't distribute a repackaged Dwarf Fortress without making a clear list of the modifications in the end of the README file.

I've got the dinosaurs and armored worms installed in my latest game, but I haven't ever seen them!! I know they should be rare, but I've been playing this fort for about 6 years and still haven't seen one.

Awesome.  Those [EXRACT] and [DRINK] tags just go above and beyond ... I've gotta take a closer look at mods someday.

Is there a way to require a specific material to create an item?

If so, sandworm teeth and crysknife creation could be implemented, although only "fixed" crysknives could exist, unless decay could be applied to them.
