Yeah, that means he's grown attached to it, he'll name it at some point, and he'll ignore other weapons that are objectively better, preferring to use the one he's gotten used to.

He's held it for so long that the flesh of his hands have grown around it and he can never put it down or pick his nose again.

On a more serious note though, will he do more damage or be more accurate with it now or something?

AFAIK, nobody's done enough testing to be sure, it's mostly anecdotal stuff, but general consensus is no.
