Thanks for the precisions.
Will turn it off now then as i have been one-shot-ing everything asleep so far and my current stabbing is at skill 16, while my small blade skill is at 13 and it's a nice little artifact sabre i use for now.

Hopefully will find some nice book and hopefully Jiyva altar before my promising current character die a stupid death.

edit : me happy just stabbed to death Nessos that was sleeping in a corner :D
Vengeance for him blocking me in Vault stair for my previous good character.

Just noticed on the wiki that the ring of sustenance i found recently is useless to non-mutated Spriggan, too bad.

I did turn stabbing back on in the later game. Where's why:

With a higher stabbing score, you do have a higher chance of landing a 2nd-tier stabbing on confused monsters. I ended up having to swing at confused monsters several times to put them down, and they often regained their senses before I could dispatch them, so I turned stabbing back on, and I was more easily able to kill the confused guys.

Also, your clan gets 10 clan points each time someone in your clan maxes out a skill that hasn't yet been tallied for your clan. Spriggan stabbing is one of the easiest skills to max out.

Good point about the tier 2 stabbing as i noticed myself since i use a bit of confuse spell for some cold resistant monster that i tend to not get much stabbing effect.
I will try to get a bit of translocation first though, well if i find a book with apportation as i really need to get a reliable teleport/blink spell at some point and not count on scrolls that can take fire at any time, and then after that turn stabbing back on .

That is if my spriggan survive long enough ;)

And i have always the insane hope of finding a Jiyva altar soon in the dungeon or in my next destination, Orcs Mines, without needing to dive into the "sure death" that is Slime Pit.

 Just enough damage..

I'm surprised there are still only 2 sprint wins, 50 points are up for grabs if you can grab the third.

removing exactly the amount of health you have in 1 shot ?
Now that was pure evil from the random number code.

Does Sprint give team points like normal game does, or only Sprint wins count ?

Cleaned Orc Mines today, killed Maurice after hibernating him, again a good revenge for an old character he killed there.

Then at some point of my Orc Mines exploration i saw another unique i had not met yet, Nikola.
He was sleeping, so i sneak up to him and stabbed him to death.

It's good i didn't looked to his wiki entry before, or i would have never approached him.
a mage with 190 health !
and electric spells that i have no protection against !

I have been very lucky that my stealthy approach didn't woke him up.
But in the same time i was surprised because i stabbed him and killed him in 1 shot, meaning that at my current character stabbing/short blade skill level, he can remove 190 health in 1 hit.
Now the difficulty is to get those monsters to sleep, as tier 2 stabbing (confused monsters, not sleeping ones) does far less bonus damage.

Thos Spriggan Enchanters are very fun to play once you manage to get them to survive the very early dungeon floors.

Sadly, always no Jiyva altar to be seen, that's annoying.
In the dungeon i met 2 or 3 killer bee nest, so i collected so far 41 honeycombs ! and i have not yet entered the main killer bee base of Hive, just put my stuff together in Hive:1
At least a good new is that i will not have to worry anymore about food for my Spriggan

I'm trying. :) Need a break from my L27 GhFe in the regular game. Haven't figured out how to kill Dispater yet.

Also there is a new Nemelex Choice combo, Sludge Elf Assassin which is still unwon.

  Only wins count.

Quote
200/100/50 points for first Sprint win of the tournament. NOTE: Only the first win of a player is considered for this.

50 points for a player's first Sprint win.

20 points for a player's second and subsequent Sprint wins that do not repeat a species or a class of any of her previous wins. No extra points for Sprint streaks.

10 clan points for a Sprint win with a character (species + class) that was not previously won during the tournament (i.e. not previously won by any other player in a Sprint game started after Aug 15 0000 UTC).

Damn Wayne, another character i hate now.

Despite Wayne has no particular resistance and no protecting spell according to wiki, he resisted the half a dozen of confusion spell i sent to him, despite my character high level of enchantement and intelligence and confusion spell power.
Thanks a lot random number, thanks.

Another promising character dead despite i was sure he could take Wayne out, as i would only have needed one of the damned confusion i launched at Wayne to take effect.

Yay for 31 EV that decide to fail when i need it more than anything.
oh well, at least unlike other recent characters that went far, it was not another waste of time as at least it added 1 new unique and a ghost to my kill list, so a few more points for the team.

I was going to message you about Dispater, but I didn't think you were going to read it. Your GhFE is unlikely to win against most of the demon lords.

Don't trust the wiki too much. Most editors only write dumb fan fics and correct typos.  :P Most all the strategy stuff was written by me and I rarely visit that site anymore.

Edit:

This is a better site.

Well I was hoping to kill all the uniques. But maybe that is too ambitious. Dispater is not a huge threat, I led him to the vestibule in order to avoid hell effects while fighting. But he is completely resistant to fire and cold (even ice storm) doesn't hurt him much either. My melee ability is not very strong so may need to work on that. Could go farm Pandemonium for a while but certainly won't be able to kill the major pan lords yet. However could steal the rest of the runes... as long as I don't do something stupid it should be fairly easy to get the 15 rune win.

According to what i read there, Wayne has a -very- high magic resistance in comparison to every other uniques i faced, something very important indeed the wiki does not mention at all.
No wonder none of the confusion spell worked, will have to refer to this now when facing uniques i am not used to

/bookmark that link.

I would personally advice against going into pandemonium until you are absolutely ready, I lost 2 characters going for a 15 rune win there. Also Cerebov is probably the toughest monster in the game.
also: Hellions.

Good advice, but this character is probably ready. With strong ice magic hellions are not a big problem and even Cerebov might fall. :) I did lose a melee character to Cerebov once and definitely will keep my distance.

Today I killed Polyphemus. I also learned that my SpEn is mostly capable of killing death yaks purely via melee. Little bit of poison kiting, but mostly just walking up and daggering them to death. This... really shouldn't be viable. Little spriggan has no business beating on mighty death yak.

But it works. Guess I shouldn't complain...

EDIT: I also learned bone dragon summons follow you down stairs. Whee!

EDIT2: Killed Ilsuiw at Shoals:5. Nemelex is a stone cold beast. Same summon horde that murdered Ilsy proceeded to take down a kraken. Sweet, sweet XP. Ooh, krakens take two sleep-stabs. Fortunately, you can sleep them after they're confused. Sleepwalking is always neat :P
