Sprint games don't affect win streaks of regular games. I also chose TrBe and died at just about the same point. But it was because I drank a potion that dropped my intelligence to zero. :(

Were the jellies behind the warning scrawled door? I didn't dare open it. :) Had no poison resistance so drank my unidentified potions hoping for resistance in order to kill a few things in snake pit. I had a nice axe for the hydras but not enough skill to use it yet.

On the right of the map I destroyed a silver statue but fled the area when an orb of lightning flew near. No shock resistance either... wish Trog would gift armour.

I meant my Sprint streak. I just remembered it doesn't count for anything. Yeah, the jellies were behind that door. I was expecting undead creatures, like I encountered in a regular game.

Anyone know if there is a way to change the colors that are displayed? In sewers I'm having trouble telling shallow and deep water apart.

Sludge elf assassin is the latest Nemelex Choice. It seems easy compared to the previous two... Anyway, here's my current progress. I finally completed the fruit basket, but I don't see the banner.

It doesn't say anything about colors on the page, and looking through the file linked to, there doesn't seem to be an option to change it individually, and the default option is 'grey' for some reason.

Your dump is currently showing a DDNe. I think the fruit basket banner shows when you finish the game in which the fruit was found. Seemed that way when I got mine.

If you want to configure your terminal color palette:

I hope it helps.

Oh, I better finish my game soon. Thanks.

Yesterday, for fun i played a chaos knight of Xom.
Xom gave me an incredible gift, i was so happy when i saw "god gift" appearing.
But when i looked at what was the gift i noticed it was +/- 30 completely normal stones.

Wow :D

LAST DAY FOR SIGNUPS!

(or is it over already? If not, I may have someone for the haulers.)

Indeed!

Either there's only a few hours left or it's already over. There seems to be already one sprint win (SpEn, how surprising), so I think it's the latter.

Anyway, the teams are now set and the tournament is halfway through, only thing left is to get as much points as possible. Speaking of which, the clan LostArtBrewing has taken the top place of the combo highscores list and seems like the common interest of Blacksmiths and Miners to bring it down. The guy named Eli is the guy mostly behind that, so beating his combo scores is the most effective way to reclaim the first spot.

I took a few day break from Crawl caused by numerous stupid defeats and failed attempts at combo highscores, but I think I'll be back at full steam again tomorrow. Though I'm still not decided if I want to try for new runes or combo highscores.

Nonetheless, Go Bay12!

EDIT: Seriously, 3 mutation potions on D:1? Drank 'em all though.

I have more time to devote to this now.

(It has nothing to do with the fact that my laptop broke, and all my netbook does good is telnet.)

I was wondering why people said that Spriggan Enchanter was a good combo for beginner, and i noticed why when i acquired the hibernation spell.

It's harder than Berserker Troll for the beginning as your Spriggan is extremely frail, but once you can cast the Hibernation spell that is on the default book you start with, you get a huge survival asset there.

And combined with the running speed of a Spriggan to escape some foes, it is really a good beginner combo, at least if you can keep the Spriggan alive until you can cast reliably Hibernation.

Though i guess you'll need luck with finding fruit and bread, at least until Hive to keep your Spriggan feed.

For my Spriggan there was a situation in which only pure luck saved me, and for once luck was on my side (so probably Crawl will find an insane way to crush my character later).
I was in a corridor and badly wounded, behind me appeared a human, in the other side Pikel appeared.
I guess that's where i am happy to have a nice EV, as once i was in sandwhich between Pikel and the human slave, it was extremely hard, especially as i was out of teleporting scroll.
After a few resists that got my Spriggan sweating a lot as both human slave and Pikel were trying to kill the nearly dead hero, finally Pikel was affected the Hibernation spell and was immediately stabbed to death.
What a relief it was.

But what has satisfied me a very very lot is this :

Ah, sweet revenge for all the annoyance those unseen horrors have done for my non-see invisible characters.

Spriggen enchanters are fun, I got one to D:7 on my first try until I was blasted by several orc priests.

Right now I've got my best character yet that I've had alive for quite awhile (haven't been around to play) that just cleared Swamp:4. Any Idea where I should go now? I don't think I have enough magic to safely go down to S:5 yet.
