Well i'm happy i stepped out of elven halls to explore the dungeon a bit more with my Deep Dwarf, I just found http://crawl.chaosforge.org/index.php?title=List_of_unrands#.2B13.2C_.2B4_demon_blade_.22Leech.22 unidentified in a shop, which now allows me to wear a shield, and gives me awesome health gen from combat.

Well, that promising character died. I was got surrounded by Pikel and his slaves and couldn't get a mephitic cloud off. I found quite a few randarts in this game, even though I didn't get very far. The new high score for mummy stalker is 2395.

I am wondering about what kind of mace/flail weapon (having skill 10 in them) i should use now.

I just recieved from Trog with my current Troll Berserker this :

   the +3,+4 ankus of Faesaq (weapon) {god gift, drain, rElec rF+ MR}
   (Trog gifted it to you on level 9 of the Dungeon)   
   A truly terrible weapon, it drains the life of those it strikes.
   It protects you from fire.
   It insulates you from electricity.
   It increases your resistance to enchantments.

The powers sound awesome, it may hit for less damages than my giant club (20 damages while this ankhus is 9 damages+4), but it is much more accurate (+2+3 vs -6) and quick (140 vs 170) but the problem i have is the draining that will basically lower each XP rewards from killing monsters.
Is this weapon going to put me in a bad situation in the long term , not being high level enough for what i will do later because of this XP lowering drain brand ?

Or should i forget both ankhus and giant club and use my older hammer of protection (+3+3 precision, 7 +1  damage and speed delay 130, the power adds 5 to my AC) knowing that this one unlike the artifact can improve accuracy and damage bonus with future scrolls ?

Robsoie, I would stick with your giant club for now, but if you have room to carry that ankus with you, it might come in handy for its resists.  It will do a lot less damage than your giant club, but if you plan on being berserk while using it the difference will be much less noticable (the Might effect while berserk provides the same dmg bonus no matter what you're hitting your enemies with).

It's your call, but I would probably hold out for a giant spiked club.  It's the Cadillac of bloody pulp making!

Sadly, hubris caused mr troll death in a battle with a hydra.

Anyways, one of my short lived game had me encountering Terence while being a level 3 berserker.
I already killed Terence in some previous games with such character, so i did not expected what he did and what kind of weapon he was using.

I learned after death that his weapon was a short sword +1,+3 with the speed brand.
That already was extremely dangerous, but what i didn't expected is that Terence turned berserk.
And there he made short work of my berserked troll.

I... okay, so the elves apparently aren't that bad. I think my gibbering terror came from pre-stone soup, which was the last time I'd been in the place. Then, at least, E:1 was filled with freakish demon-summoning doom-elves, that ate you alive in seconds... or that's what I remember, in any case. There wasn't anything throwing 2s and 3s at me right from the start, which was kinda' a surprise...

Any recommendations for this place, as to what exactly to avoid? I've been checking the knowledge bot as I go along to determine whether something gets mystic blast or fireball (food is plentiful in here ) to the face, and I've just realized I can fire mephetic cloud around corners, but I'm still terribly leery about this branch. What's going to be the most likely thing to violently slaughter me?

EDIT: Anyone have an idea how tough a quicksilver dragon skeleton is? The non-skele looks like it'd eat me. Haven't really figured out exactly what being skeletized does to something...

The Elven Halls can get nasty quickly. You can get drained quite a bit by the conjurers, and I often get tossed into the Abyss from their various spellcasters. High magic resistance and life protection are necessary.

I wouldn't mess with a quicksilver dragon skeleton if I could help it.
