Here we go. My first game. Going with my most played combination. Demonspawn Chaos Knight, though I chose Lugonu as the god.

EDIT: Oh wow, that was a struggle. On Death's door in every corner. Orc priests and wizards. Then, naturally, Sigmund comes as his invisible-self and kills me. At least I can take pride in surviving so many potentially fatal situations.

EDIT2: Oh wow, nice going Miners. You're leading the Bay12 Teams, haha. Combo scores 2nd place.

Now for a Spriggan Necromancer! 81 points is the score to beat. 323! I did it, hehe.

Final Edit: Haha, my best guy yet is an Ogre Warper with 1580 points.

Transmuter.  Distill potions of mutation from mutagenic corpses.  Lower rate of bad changes, plus it's awesome.

Actually, I think potions and chunks have the same chance of giving bad mutations. The difference is that potions give THREE mutations, whereas a chunk only gives one. If mutations are what you are looking for, it's still a good idea to bottle the corpses. And yeah, it is awesome.

In a couple of games I have been killed by Sigmund, succumbed to poison and other predictable early deaths. Now I started a demonspawn hunter, and Xom rolled me Nightstalker. Well, it's not like I would have NEEDED that line of sight, anyway. It's not like I would have wanted to do any ARCHERY or anything.

My first game: Orge Berserker, I was level 5 on dungeon floor 5, and suddenly this happens:

Network error: Software caused connection abort.

edit: luckily I can continue the game after I reconnected.

By the way, I was looking at the rankings, and some of the stuff on the scoreboard is clearly bugged.  I saw guys listed as having played 0 games, but getting points for various things.  One guy had points for a couple dozen uniques and 2 runes.  I don't really know who to ask about this...

I think the points are updated as soon as the guy saves the game, not necessarily finishes it. That might be the reason for this.

I think the points are updated as soon as the guy saves the game, not necessarily finishes it. That might be the reason for this.

 The number records finished games and his character didn't die yet. My latest guy killed Sigmund and Jessica, and I got my 10 bonus points despite the fact it is ongoing.

Argh, just when i thought i got a very good promising Troll Berserker going, i destroyed a whole Orc outpost with a warrior, some normal orcs and & few priests and mages inside, then while i was slowing down i got under attack from several bears.

Fought back, but being slow i noticed that my health was going down quicker than the bears, so i decided to use a teleportation scroll as i was forgetting i had a few of them, so i could just easily regenerate out of the way then come back from some bear stomping.

Unfortunately, random generation proves again that it never like me as i was teleported convenientely in the middle of a centaur/wight/snake and hobgoblin feast and my badly wounded Troll that was slow since a lot of turns was always unable to get berserked and couldn't run away or fight back and was destroyed in just a hit or two without thinking about trying my other unknown scroll, as i saw there was a "fear scroll" that could have been very helpfull there.

At least was my best run so far in the tourney, but after getting a robe of magic protection, i'm sure this troll could have gone for a longer run if bad luck had not put him there.

Got the most stupid death ever, Menkaure vs a Troll Berserker.
It was a large empty whole screen room, Menkaure was at the extreme right, my Troll in the extreme left of it.
In this situation, logic dictate that you move back out of view and wait for Menkaure to come close without seeing you in his spell/wands range, because you know that once he is  close, Menkaure is a very easy kill for a Troll.

But for some reason by simple reflex after all those goblin/orc/whatever "i run into you and destroy you" routine i had with my troll, i just moved toward him, and full health (even found a ring of sustenance to help fight hunger) Troll Berserker went down fast and incredibly stupidly, getting into a routine really can be the doom of a character.

Robsoie, I found your Troll Berserker's ghost. I had to run from it because it was killing my imps faster than I could summon them.

If i remember well, ghosts are usually more powerfull than the characters they were originally, so considering a berserker troll is already extremely strong in hand to hand, i can't imagine how strong a ghost of it can be.
Surprising to see that it can defeat several imps at the same time, as some of the summoned imps can be very strong (unless they have been toned down in 0.7)

They actually got better because you can summon all the past ones plus the new iron imp.
