Ooh...will finally take up Crawl again..was playing too much LoL anyway......So, I have played and won ADOM once and got a couple of runes in Dungeon Crawl. I reach Lair fairly often, but not often enough to say regularly. If you wanna see my stats, my account name is 'thack' on the cao server. So, is there a free spot up for grabs?
Well, you sound like a Blacksmith level player, and coincidentally, the only currently remaining slot is on that team, which I even happen to be the captain of. So, despite poorly constructed sentences, welcome to the Bay12 Blacksmiths team! Just write "#TEAMCAPTAIN LASD" on top of your CAO options file and you're all set for the tournament.

Blacksmiths is now full too. If Soulwynd turns up and Mr. Person tackles his connection probelms, the main teams are set. Congratulations to everyone making the line-up, let's show the world of Crawl that Bay12 is a force to be reckoned with!

If you still want to play in a Bay12 team, there's a possible Immigrants team that is for everyone that signs up "late"

I see that I am not showing up in the champions, I think it is because I capitalized the "D" in "demos", I will change that and hopefully it'll fix it.

It's Demos. I assume the clan page isn't ready yet. There are at least 3 clans missing from the list (Bay12 Miners, Bay12 Blacksmiths, and Team Ogre) and I don't see a link to it on the main tournament page.

Noted, and changed back to "Demos"!

Ok, done that.... any idea how to check if it's set up properly? By the way, is LASD all caps or small? I assumed that was all caps and put it in accordingly.

EDIT: I can now see myself in the clan list on CAO. So, I guess it's all setup properly. Also started a MDFi to get myself back in the groove :D

Code: [Select]
1 0 Bay12Soapers koe (captain), 41407, neudialect, skid
1 0 Bay12 Blacksmiths lasd (captain), empty, soadreqm, thack
1 0 Bay12 Champions demos (captain), tinymouse
1 0 Bay12 Soapers quinn (captain)

Quinnr should change "# TEAMPLAYERS" to "# TEAMMEMBERS".

His current rcfile looks like this:
Code: [Select]
# TEAMNAME Bay12_Soapers
# TEAMPLAYERS PsyberianHusky de5me7 Fetish zchris13 Hfaweon

Well i guess i am doing something wrong, as despite following the documentation about how to play online and the "tournament information" , and despite i just played again, there is always no Bay12_Miners appearing at all.

So in case there's something missing here is how i do :

Instead of NetTile, i just tried with the current console version and Putty, connected to CAO , login start playing either a Sprint or normal Crawl, once dead i disconnect.
I see on CAO on my morgue page, my game log is listed.

Now few days ago after reading a bit about how to setup the tournament team , i noticed the mention of "your CAO rcfile" or ".crawlrc" and obviously i found no such file at all in my Crawl directory.
Googling a bit i found that for some reason those were in fact the init.txt (the documentation is totally unclear on this) in a comment from this page on the crawl dev website.

So in my crawl directory\settings\init.txt i added as needed :
Code: [Select]
# TEAMNAME Bay12_Miners
# TEAMMEMBERS baruk Soulwynd akhier christhawk Frumple3

on the top of the file, as mentionned in the documentation.

And nothing appears in the clan list related to Bay12_Miners.

I'm sure the explanation of why it does not work is somethig trivial, but i found nowhere in the CAO website something different from what i did.
Any help ?

Robsoie, after you login to CAO first pick

1) Go to Crawl Stone Soup 0.7.0 menu

then pick

o) Edit options for Crawl Stone Soup 0.7.0  O) with Virus

Quinnr should change "# TEAMPLAYERS" to "# TEAMMEMBERS".

His current rcfile looks like this:
Code: [Select]
# TEAMNAME Bay12_Soapers
# TEAMPLAYERS PsyberianHusky de5me7 Fetish zchris13 Hfaweon
Wait how'd you see that?

And Robsoie, it has to be added through Telnet. When you log in, choose play "Stone Soup 0.7.0" and then in the next menu press 'o' to "edit options for Crawl 0.7.0" There you should see bunch of text with '#' marks on front of it. And then add this to the top:
Code: [Select]
# TEAMNAME Bay12_Miners
# TEAMMEMBERS baruk Soulwynd akhier christhawk Frumple3

EDIT: A ninjamouse got ahead of me.

Thanks! Just figured it was probably my fault, and was about to double check, but someone did it for me :)

@LASD: I just edited mine through SSH, so it doesn't have to be Telnet.

Hmm...I've never been a big fan of CCGs - I mean, I did and still do collect Pokemon cards, but I never got heavily into the battling and trading thing.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.

Aah, yeah. Sorry, I meant a Telnet program, which probably is similarly flawed expression. PuTTY, that's my final answer.

Also, I just PM'd KoE about him still captaining a team, so the annoying old Bay12Soapers with no underscore hopefully disappears in the coming days.

P.S. Cool, all the teams are now up.

Alright... how the hell do I make the @ not be highlighted? -_-

Damn me for getting back into this...

I've had both the snake rune and the swamp rune on one occasion using a vampire ice wizard, and I've had each of those runes individually on more than a few occasions.  I played in Soapers last year as an absolute newbie.
