No tournament for me. I won't be back in time, it turns out. I'll practice for next year, though.

Those who got "autobalanced", are you okay with the changes? If you want to move to another team, just say and it will happen. Also, those on Soapers, if you feel confident on your playing ability I can move you to Miners.

EDIT: Final question, can anyone think of a good word for experience level between beginner and intermediate?

i'm cool with whichever team I play in, Miners are probably best for me. I notice someone on the main thread just finished the game in 40 minutes, which is quite easily the amount of time I might spend clearing level one..

Q2:  Novice, acolyte or apprentice? In dwarfly terms, perhaps equivalent to the status of gem setter, charcoal burner or tanner.

Haa... if you need more numbers on the low end of the scale, I could probably spare a few hours a day for august. Go back to school around th'17th, but my workload's not likely to be terribly heavy that month and I can manage th'time in the afternoon, anyway.

S'far as skill goes, well, I pretty much suck. I've gotten below level 10 before -- well, more than once, actually -- but never gotten a rune (Not even cheating, oi.) and I die horribly before dlvl 10 quite often. I also prefer to play mummies (Which is a mark against me in itself :P), followed by demonspawn -- but I'll do anything, and weird combinations tend to be interesting (Must... try... Kiku-worshipping Troll Necromancer...). Of course, I tend to be more incapable with th'non-weird combos than the odd ones, so... yeah.

Actually, looking at the list again, I apparently fit with the miners? I've hit the lair legit a number of times, now that I think about it; though those bloody elves and their bloody spells eat my poor critters like dere nothin'. Sad times... Wait, that's the vault, which is below the orcs. Right. Most of lair branches sound horrible scary for anything not-a-merfolk (Why do mummies drown again?).

I guess the regular failure at early levels obscures the memory of the deeper attainments... or something. Eh. Still, that or soapers. I've never even seen a rune, heh.

M'CAO name is Frumple3 (Though I've played precisely one ~230 turn game with it...) due to having apparently forgotten the password of Frumple. Bah. I can't really seem to get CDO to work, so I hope that doesn't matter.

I was confused by the 40 minute thing too, but then I noticed it was in the Sprint mode, which is very different from the main game. Though it will be included in the Tournament from the 15th onwards.

If I can ever figure out how to go online I'd like to join the Soapers
Here's a good guide for that. You're now in the team with a question mark.

-------

Aaand, Frumple. I warmly welcome you to the Miners! CAO is perfectly fine and so is playing obscure classes. It's even good for your score (the obscure classes, not CAO)

Hmm, Miners is full again. If Soadreqm keeps playing as well as his latest game in the main thread, he should do fine as a Blacksmith.

I just claimed my first ever rune from the bottom of the Swamp (Hooray!), and since there seems to be a lot of people wanting to join the Miners, I could switch over to Blacksmiths. Strike the anvil!

The matter of mummies drowning is a very good question. Maybe they still need to breathe for some reason? They can operate blowguns, right?

Well, mummies can drown, but in practise, you'll never drown in the Lair.  I mean, nothing there confuses you, and you can stay away from the water.  Same goes for Swamp, to some extent.

You'll drown in swamp if you don't have poison resistance. And if you're careless enough, you can always end a levitation spell while over deep water.

I can't wait for this to start. It's gonna be awesome :P

Also, I've reached the lair, but I'd rather stay in the Soapers. I've only gotten to the lair a couple times.

Also, no Barbarossa? Sadness! :P

Pretty sure your probably good. Once you reach the temple a couple times, it gets easier and easier to get to it. At least for me, anyways.
LASD probably has the final say though..:P

If you absolutely have to, move me to the Blacksmiths since I have gotten runes before. Those runes were mostly in 0.5, though.

Hmm...I've never been a big fan of CCGs - I mean, I did and still do collect Pokemon cards, but I never got heavily into the battling and trading thing.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.

Done, and done. Welcome zchris13!

Hmm, at this point we have 16 or 17 people signed up, there's still many days to go, but I'm getting a bit dubious if we'll get all of them full. The Blacksmiths might still have to split up and that would make Leafsnail and Empty Champions. (I just checked, last year our team consisted of the following experience levels: me (one rune), AlStar (wins) , Solvent (no wins then), bmacdonell (pretty expertish), Ealbright (middling player by his claim) and Vactor (If I'm not completely mistaken, got his first win during the tournament). So at most 4 players of the team were experts.

Though checking the thread also showed that last year the team organizing started only a day before the tournament. So, I think I'll just relax and let the teams be as they are at least for a few days more.

What I'm more concerned about is that I seem to have got a lot worse at the game now. I haven't even seen entered the Lair in a long time (whoops, my TrBe did find it). Though I'm learning to not do stupid things again (like drinking an unknown potion while fighting a centaur and a slave thinking even if it's something unpleasant, I can still run away or drink another. The potion turned out to be paralyse.) I think my relaxing should expand on my playing too. Though I think part of it is the illogical thinking of not wanting to win or do well before the tournament to "save" it for then.
