Damn Blink Frogs, i always hate them.

I was unable to find early enough the altar i wanted so i ended with Fedhas, not bad, but because of the corrupted temple, i entered into Fedhas service late finding his altar very later.
Sadly i noticed too late that i had no fruit in my inventory (damn just remembered that Kobold not eating fruits, they do not autopick them argh ! ) no Oklob plant deadly turret.
This proved fatal in Lair when i wanted to setup the defense with Oklob, as Imps+a few mushrooms are not at all strong enough to resist or hit a single Blink Frog (the Blink Frog destroyed them all, even the 3 Iron Imps i had with incredible ease).

Sadly my teleportations scrolls were all already used (saved my kobold life a lot of time in front of way too much Orc Warriors) so the 4 Blink Frogs had it very easy.

Cleaned entirely Orc Mines before that but did not found any worthy shop to spend my lots of gold this time (that seems like a trend, everytime i have lot of money i don't find any shops i hope to see, and when i find few gold there's lot of awesome shops from which i can't buy anything).

But at least got my revenge on Maurice that an a lot Imps meat shield allowed me to wait for his invisibility to wear off, helped by the configuration of the walls so i was never in his LOS to get his wand of fire on me, and even more Imps annihilated Maurice.

Those runes seems always very far from reach.

It... appears to be a wall? Go down. Or back up? Or teleport. Dig, maybe, or one of those kaboom-the-wall spells (Well, 5th level SE probably wouldn't have access, but still...). There's still two other stairs to choose from, after all. Probably a nice area to retreat to, though, since there's only one spot that can be occupied by something following you up the stairs.

I'm not sure if it is something new to 0.7.x or if it was just bad luck, but everytime i reached the stair leading into Orcs Mines there were always at least 2 Orc Warriors (and other kind of Orcs) roaming around that entrance.

And everytime i found the stair leading into Lair, always a bunch of animals, and sometime crocodiles+komodo dragons guarding that entrance (and 2 times i had 3 elephants guarding those stairs !) .

In comparison to 0.6 and 0.5 that seems to be a big increase in the difficulty depending at which floor you find those entrances, as finding on early dungeon floor those Orcs Mines and Lair stairs guarded by such monsters that's worse than meeting Sigmund on Floor:2

From what I've seen of the vault raws (not much, mind) there's a random (pretty high) chance for there to be something special at the entrance to a branch; depending on the branch, there might be something on either, or both, sides. Just depends on the whims of the RNG.

Dunno 'bout the difficulty spike, though. 7.0's been the most I've played crawl since pre-stone soup. Apparently armor's been toned down, but other than that...

Well. I do understand it's a stated dev goal to (eventually) make streaking basically impossible (or at least freakishly difficult), so you're intended to lose a number of critters, low level especially, to RNG anal buggering.

Re: Doomrobe: It's an unrandart. Iirc, you can avoid the bad ones by checking their name vs. the unrandart list. Could have saved yourself some trouble

I HAVE SO MANY SPELL CHOICES WHAT DO I DO WHAT DO I DO

I haven't felt this good since I violently murdered several uniques at the same time with blade hands.

What's your choices? There's the big ones -- Fly, Repel/deflect missiles, swiftness and haste, blink, regen, abjuration, dispel undead, sublimation of blood, uh... more. More and more and more and more... need more data input. What access do cha' got?

Augh. I started a spriggan gladiator, just for fun, and I'm doing reasonably well. Five stars of piety with Okawaru, although he hasn't gifted me anything cool yet. I've found some nice randarts just lying around, though. And a short sword of speed. But, oh woe, I am stuck with a cursed ring of teleportation and can't seem to find a single scroll of remove curse in this stupid dungeon. Char dump, if anyone's interested.

I haven't done much of consequence with this character. I did face Purgy in a sewer, powered by my amulet of rage, and I've killed a ghost or two, but that's it. Maybe if I get rid of this teleportitis and find another +9/+2 katana lying around, I can kick some serious ass. One can dream.

I am wondering, if you have a teleport control ring/amulet and are affected by teleportitis, can you control those random teleports ?

My money says that if you have teleportitis, and use teleport control, you get lots and lots of magical contamination.  I haven't had somebody watch me in a while.  Stupid Prince Ribbit.  Killing my summons.  HAHA EAT THAT, CREEPY FROG DUDE.

I have spells to memorise out to p, so it would be a lot to copy over.

If you're using putty, it auto-copies when you highlight text (I think. Might have to muck around with one of the settings, I'unno.), letting you easily paste a list. If you're using net tiles, you could probably just open up putty for a sec to do th'copying.

Alternately, just list out the books you've got. Less effort, and it's easy to get a list off the wiki

And yeah, telecontrol does seem to generate some glow when you use it. Can only imagine random teleportation would build up glow really fast. Oh... and yeah, I'm fairly sure you can control teleportitis. Should be able to just cancel the teleport, I think, if you don't want to go somewhere.

Anyone else noticed that Ribbit leaves a human corpse instead of a frog one? I thought that was a rather amusing touch.
