Yeah, I saw that Boksi, I just didn't plan on getting help until the game was mostly done.  Using placeholders and stuff, but I'd like the placeholders to be a little less horrible.

Also, if someone else does the music, and someone else does the images, all I did was the planning and the coding.  The code is and will be held together with duct tape and chewing gum, but it will work.  I'm gonna give it a day or two and see if I magically start making decent sprites, then I'll start making definite requests for certain art assets.

If you make something, I'll put you in the credits and the readme and all that, but you won't get paid or anything.  Maybe I'll have some special DLC like they're doing to kill the used game market.  If you download from Mediafire, you get a fire sword.  If you download from Filefront, you get the Armor of the Juggernaut.  If you download from rapidshare, you have to wait 90 seconds before the game starts unless you pay me 15 dollars.

(don't ask me why the fuck somebody would want to name their program The Gimp)
Huh? It's called GIMP, all caps and there is no The in front.

And it stands for GNU Image Manipulation Program.

I'm not gonna bring out The Gimp for pixel art.  It's 16x16 and I'm not going to need a full blown studio.  I can probably do it in paint.

Also, I've been reading on the internet and somehow came up with this.

Now I can't figure out how to turn him around, so for the time being I'm going to just flip him upside down when he's going north.  It doesn't look completely retarded.  Now that my sprites aren't so hideous they actually can't function, I'm probably going to wait until the non-art parts of the game are mostly done to start recruiting spriting help.

Yeah.  I've hit a new snag in my game.  I was on twocansandstring and said if someone told me a story, I'd tell them a story.  They told me a sad story about a puppy, so I had to one up them.

Spoiler: Gutwrenching (click to show/hide)

I wrote that, and then I cried like a bitch.  I'm too depressed to work on the game right now.

Agreed. Though I do dislike children in general, so I'm a bit biased against the annoying little whale child from the start.

Maybe it's that INFP or whatever sneaking in, but writing that story was excruciating.

On topic:  I am a slut for nested folders.  I have folders in folders in folders in folders.  We're talking matryoshka folders in here.

A folder is both deleted and not deleted so long as you don't observe it?

The question is, does the computer itself count as an observer?

Hey, I wanted to derail this thread into an argument about whether or not computers and their software count as an observer in quantum mechanics. Now who am I going to pointlessly argue with?

Well the religion thread's locked, so I guess you're just gonna have to play nice and not argue for a while.
