Adapt a series of eyes that constant watch the surrounding area? Because yeah, that alternate timeline's 682 must've been a real wuss.
Yeah, it actually did exactly that when they tried to destroy it with 173. So more of them probably wouldn't fare any better.

It probably got torn to pieces (like in this timeline when it was put against 173) but adapted as necessary. It's more that they were dicks to 682 than anything else that the doctor in question found so amusing, I imagine.

Remember, 682 has never suffered harm that tore it into separate pieces. It can have limbs, organs, even most of its body stripped away by trauma, but torn into pieces? The Foundation never managed that.  If they group up, 173's can tear open bunkers and blast doors built by The Foundation. Ripping 682 into shreds untill it couldn't regenerate isn't that far-feched.

Even if it could adapt in time, 682's adaptations seem to go away against its will. It would escape the 173 apocalypse just in time to see North and South America get saturated with nuclear bombs. You'd think it might be mentioned that 682 washed up on England's shores and got re-contained by the Foundation. Then again, it is just a short story, and I'm overthinking this.

How many times do people have to repost the 682 test log before other people stop BEING WRONG about whether or not 682 has ever been torn to pieces?

They sliced it in half with a laser. This has already been said.
Then each one regenerated into a smaller 682. This has already been said.
Then they coordinated to escape. This has already been said.
One was injured substantially and was devoured by the other. This has already been said.

Derp.

Yeah, you thought [DATA EXPUNGED] was funny and didn't take out anything important from the story, or could be guessed with ease? You were wrong. So. Very. Wrong.

At least they're together now. :)

I've just found a way to possibly terraform Venus easily.

Now the only problem is getting it on the surface and preventing it from being damaged by the acid.

Any problem can be solved through throwing away the lives of D-Class personel. Sometimes you just have to be persistant about it.

I feel sorry for the D-class personnel. I mean, they've committed crimes, sure. But do they really deserve to die in such horrible fashions? :P

No. But I don't think anyone in the Foundation cares.

Besides, if it were not for attaching no value to individual human lives, the Foudation wouldn't have a moonbase. Doesn't that make you feel so much better?
