I was so shocked when I heard this announcement. My friends and I played the Alien Swarm mod for years, and were following the development of the stand-alone game closely. For the past few years there has literally been no news whatsoever about the development and where the project was at. Requests for information on the forums were basically treated as a joke. I'd sort of assumed that the game was dead.

In any case, even if it's just as fun as the original it's going to be a blast!

Definitely going to download it and try it out tonight!

Sorry for the double post, but I think this bit of news deserves it. I just refreshed the store page and it changed from 1 hour until unlock to 3.

This looks pretty nice, but my PC isn't the best so I'm worrying about performance giving the requirements I've seen so far. I'll wait and see what I hear people say about it, if it's no worse than TF2 performance wise I'll have to give it a try, though with a slowish internet 2.5GB is quite a bit, so it'll take me a while to get round to it.
