There was a Harvest Moon game, if that counts.

I hope you do not mean the SNES one..

But really, which one are you talking about?
Some are worse than others I can agree on that.

It was on the gamecube, you know the one. The one where you can only plant and water one plant at a time, your watering can held like 5 units of water, and you had to water your plants more than once a day. They slapped a bunch of land for you to plant in but never would as a big "$*% you".

WoW. It blew. I prefer runescape because I can turn it off quicker.

I tried to re-install Spore today, and it kept rejecting the CD-Key (which it did not ask me for during installation, making me have to input it manually in the Sporebin folder), possibly because of the max activation policy.

So now Spore has become my least favourite game, because the cell phase isn't really worth calling customer support over.

And while I will continue to play EA releases for many years, I will not be paying for them. Except to the ISP who supplies my bandwidth.

I have a love/hate relationship with Wurm Online.  Those of you who recognize the name "Notch" might know of Wurm, as it was the game he was working on before Minecraft.  Now there's only one server dev for Wurm.

It has, hands down, the best crafting system in any 3d persistent world game that has ever been created, including being able to modify the landscape itself.

But the graphics.  Oh dear god the graphics.  Efforts are underway to add skeletal animations and the ability to make characters look different from one another, but it's a small indie game.

The time to raise skills is also more than moderately painful, but I'm actually OK with that in general, slow development of character is fine.

Ah Wurm.
I didn't have too much problem with the graphics. The models were kinda bleh, but the environment itself was actually pretty at times.

Eventually the grind got to me and my friends when we played it. The crafting system was interesting, but often very grindy. Craft. Improve. Fail. Repair. Improve. Fail. Repair. Improve. Fail. Repair. Improve. Fail. Repair. Ad nauseum.

There wasn't much staying power for us. Of course, none of us went beyond trial accounts either, so that didn't particularly help matters.

Actually, I was talking about Harvest Moon 64, but I was replying to the comment about there being no RPGs for the N64:

Quest 64. -snip-
And yet it was one of the best RPGs for the Nintendo 64 simply because there were so few RPGs for the system.  Quest 64, Ogre Battle 64...were there any others?

I've never been a huge fan of the series, but I certainly wouldn't rate it among the worst ever.

...no good RPGs for the N64? While there certainly weren't many... there was Super Mario: Legend of the Seven Stars. That's plenty to make up for the rest on it's own.

On an unrelated note, I think this thread is the last remaining scrap of Pathos still around...

AvP2, not the entire game, just Frosty. Alien? Let's spray it's acid all over my face so you can do the entire level over again. Predator? Weak bastar-ALIE-AAAAUUUUGGGHHHH. Marine? Only thing he didn't have problems with. Damn bullet sponge, but a touch of acid instantly kills him.

Or it would be if that had actually come out on the N64.

Just finished playing The Witcher 2...

I wouldn't say it was the worst game I've ever played, but it was a huge disappointment.

...*facepalm* Yeah, I got mixed up there. Paper Mario is what I meant. I knew there was a good mario RPG on it! Just... apparnetly forgot which was which.

Fable 3

The game takes about 6 hours to finish, it goes into slow motion randomly when fighting, the spells are plain overpowered, you only get about 8 weapons, it is so easy even a 4 year old could complete it in a week and most of all, the game seems to be only a small fraction as large as Fable 2.

Fable 3 is actually quite enjoyable. It only takes 6 hours to finish if you are only doing the main quests, with a minimum amount of side-quests, and to beat every quest it could possibly take over 24hrs, with those gnome and flower missions.

Plus if you think that completing every friendship mission is necessary. Just to make everyone in Albion love you.

In regards to the fable games, after beating every side mission, uncovering every secret and beating the first fable within 20 hours, I never looked again at any of the other games. It was a good example of why I wait now for the hype to die down and see what other people are saying about games before buying them.

Yup.

The first Fable got such incredible press that I ran out to buy it right away.  Played the hell out of it...  Explored every nook and cranny...  Completed all the side quests...  And was done in no time.

Surprisingly shallow game.

Haven't bothered with any of the sequels.
