Maybe they feel atheists aren't easily worked up enough to be profitable.

They can be arrogant as hell, especially on the internet, but atheists don't seem to hulk out like some religious people do when you start really attacking their beliefs.
I guess there isn't really a group to fight if you want to take on atheists.  Nor are there a huge amount of events you can picket (unlike with those of other religions, gays, and comic book readers :/).

Arguably, you could picket just about anywhere and get a few atheists, but that defeats the point.

Atheists don't really congregate or organize on a regular basis, to the extent that they even have anything to congregate for (that's a pun).  There's no National Federation of Atheists to send letters to, or AgnostiCon to picket.

I'm totally going to start AgnostiCon.  We gather by volition and happenstance and some amount of organization to unite under the gaze of one God or many or fewer to celebrate our adherence and worship of whatever we happen to chose to adhere to or worship or not.  Whatever, we haven't really figured it out, and we never will anyway.

So, I totally think that someone should assemble, in secret, a large group of homosexuals, both male and female and preferably couples (or larger relationships for bonus points). Over the course of a month, have them gradually join Westboro as recent converts that want to learn more. At the last Sunday of the month, during service with a very large turn-out of this homosexual double-agent group, on a particular keyword they all start kissing, hugging, making out, leaning on one another, etc. in a massive public display of affection. Cue the minister's head spinning on his shoulders, get chased out of the church (unless you're the majority, but they'll probably sue you for some reason), and declare victory. It's like non-violent protesting of their dumbassery, but in the best possible way.

You should invite the Pagans to set up a booth with magic practices and inform those present about the menagerie of religious figures one can worship.

No, but there are skeptic meets, and quite a few atheists tend to show up at those. The one that springs to mind is James Randi's The Amaz!ng Meet or TAM which just had it's 8th annual meet. Speaking of Randi, I'm surprised they haven't picketed him yet since he is a gay atheist magician, who is also a skeptic.

A gay atheist magician.  That's got "pillar of salt" written all over it.

It's probably a good thing I'm not in charge of the government, because I'd probably forgo any building of the economy and spend all my time focusing on silly and ironic ways to punish idiots. Starting with the WBC, then moving on to anyone who starts a religion or atheism-based thread on the forums I frequent. Then the firemen, the match teachers, and so on in that fashion.

You no I get the reference and I find it sorta funny but it seems inappropriate to put firemen and WBC in the same general "I am going to get those guys".

You would arrest all the firemen?  But what if there were a fire?

That's what Michael Phelps is for. He just beats the shit out of the water until it leaves.
