The Westboro Baptist Church takes the Bible's message much more literally (I think they have one of the biggest interpretations of turn the other cheek, too, which is basically you calling the other guy a woman or a slave) than many of the other religious groups.

Basically, they're what the Church would've been if it hadn't realised that it needed to change with the times.

Really, go look up fundamentalism. It's what certain sects of those dang dirty Muslims are (who I'm sure you'd insult for being fundamentalists and attacking America or whatever) and that's what the Westboro Baptist Church are.

Lastly, a quote from the Church leader:

That's a really ridiculous thing to say for someone who has dedicated their life to serving a fictional being that does not exist (or at least, cannot be proven to exist). What is he faulting Batman enthusiasts for, not founding the Bat Church?
