I see this connection as a blue line linking the words! This means it's more true than... than... The Bible!

A few years ago, a family of five was hit by a drunk driving the wrong way down I-75. Only the father survived the crash. The WBC picked the funeral of his wife and three children, claiming that the drunk who hit them was divinely guided by god as punishment for tolerance.

People who would do something like that deserved to be ignored, but someday they'll picket the wrong funeral and all hell will break loose.

You know, the Spanish Inquisition would have never tolerated the WBC going around declaring this or that action divine punishment. They would have been tortured for heretical teachings.

Just saying.

They already are risking their well being with their funeral protests. One of their solider funeral pickets attracted the attention of the local Hell's Angels. The very enraged, not-as-bound-by-law attention, to be exact. The WBC fence and garage also burst into flames not long after that. Could be related, could not.

So Torquemada did have at least one point in his favor, then.

People who would do something like that deserved to be ignored, but someday they'll picket the wrong funeral and all hell will break loose.

They've already picketed Iraq/Afghanistan military funerals. How they came out of that alive is beyond me. Personally, I don't know why Rev. Phelps hasn't just moved to Uganda or Nigeria or some other sub-Saharan shithole where homosexuality is a capital crime. He's certainly voiced admiration for some right bastards purely on the basis that they kills teh gays.

??? They burned a fence and a garage? Are we talking the same Hell's Angels here, or is this like a high school sophomore clique that wanted to sound more badass? 'Cause the Hell's Angels I'm familiar with would have lit the fence WITH Fred Phelps.

When I said the incidents may or may not be related, I was serious. It really could have been them, it really could not have. What I do know is that a few dozen of them sat on their bikes outside the funeral and all revved their engines whenever the WBC people started talking. Total sound drownout.

Good, comic book artists are sinners who deserve to be put to death.

I will be in attendance at this picket for sure.

There are lots of poser Hell's Angels. I know one who doesn't even own a bike, he just hates ethnic minorities.

He's my cousin once removed. =/

Well, they believe every single person on the planet is going to hell (I seem to remember reading that they know that includes them, but they strike me as too arrogant to believe that) so really they don't need a reason to picket a funeral.

We need a Cardinal in full regalia to walk up to those guys in front of all the news crews and smack them upside the head.

"See this ring here?"

"God hates fa... uh, yeah?"

"The Pope gave me this."

"Well God still hates..."

Well, uh, let him who is without sin cast the first stone and all that jazz. I guess when you're perfect it's totally acceptable to picket SINNER funerals.

For the record, Jesus would be knocking over tables and driving these people off with knotted leather cords. Just so y'all are aware.

(I'm not even really joking. He totally would)

Jesus was a bad motherfucker.  I will come with a flaming sword and all that jazz.  I think these guys are banking on God and his Son being more like in the Old Testament, and they're hoping they can stay on Their collective goodside by being as big of pricks as They were.

Silly mortals, always thinking God gives a damn what they think of his policies, supportive or otherwise.

I am so happy I am getting my pass early.
Waiting in line for ~4 hours with them picketing, would not be fun.
