As in, you beat him with St-Pierre, or he guessed it right?

I refrain from using real world people, because I don't know half the things about them that I do about fictional characters.

I beat him with St-Pierre. I like using athletes and historical figures.

Hey, it knows me! ;D

I introduced him to Shirley the medium.
Though he doesn't know Shirley from Legend of Dragoon. He kept asking stupid questions that had no pertinence to her.

It even got Scipio Africanus after like 30 questions. Granted it guessed wrong once, but bloody hell..

edit:

I managed to beat him with Max from Where the Wild Things Are, but it may have been confused with the whole book and film thing. However, Max was indeed listed in the possible people to be introduced to so it did have the character on file

Yeah, I can't beat it either, because all the people I and the Genie could maybe know, it knows (including anime), and everyone else, it really seriously couldn't possibly know and there's no point in teaching it.

I'm curious how it's going to respond to changes in its subjects, like death, childbirth, and marriage.

It didn't know the C-Consciousness.

Take that, internet!

Edit: But it did get Ironblood, after guessing Urist.

But it didn't get Tholtig Cryptbrain. Cacame Awemedinade was on the list, despite hitting 'NO' so hard on "Are they an elf?" that I'm sure some just died somewhere.

Apparently having a redundant creature entry causes the game to say, "Oh, look, it's crazy world now. Nothing makes sense! Alligators live in houses!"

Oh this bastard genie

It got Genghis Khan (I guess not that hard) and Kronk from The Emperor's New Groove, but didn't get Alexandria from The Fall. Fairly obscure movie, I guess that helps.

He couldn't get Julian the Apostate. He guessed Marcus Aurelius, Julius Caesar and Alexander the Great in that order. To be fair, Julian admired Marcus Aurelius and thought he was Alexander the Great reincarnated. On that note, he couldn't get Gore Vidal either.

Hm, I overestimated this thing quite a bit. I'm sure if I used all anime characters it could nail 'em every time, because the third question is usually "is the character from Japan" or "is the character from an animated cartoon?"

Did you try to pick a character who is from an anime but isn't from Japan?

Try to pick a character who would confuse the people who would add them so the thing can't guess it because it knows the wrong questions.

I don't know any animes except Spirited Away...

In any case, I'm having mixed success beating it with non-mainstream celebrities, scientists and historical figures.

I'm trying to think of more people from Africa but, and I'm ashamed to say this, I can't think of any besides Nelson Mandela, Desmond Tutu and Haile Selassie (well, not sub-Saharan Africa). Doesn't help that I'm tired as hell today (no I'm not African...well, any more than all humans are since we evolved there)

And yes I'm addicted. Might as well have linked me to tvtropes.

Took it three tries to get James Earl Jones

Three tries for Paul Bunyan

Two for Frederick Barbarossa

HaHa!  Got it with Badroulbadour, the princess in the story of Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp from 1001 Arabian nights.  Of course, that's really pulling out all the stops, but I got it!

It gets some real crazy ones. Rapunzel for example - I expected it to get that one easy but it took 3 tries. The whole time it was asking the wrong kinds of very-specific questions and I didn't think it had enough info to narrow it down, but then boom!

Right now I'm trying to see if it knows of the @ from Roguelike games....nope, looks like it doesn't. I've entered the character as "The @" (Roguelikes)

It's having trouble recognizing a character as ill-defined as the @. It keeps guessing other RPG protagonists like "The protagonist of Dragon Age" and "The Nerevarine."
