This gave me an idea.. what if we made a civ of thieving racoons?
They don't make stuff but steal them instead.

Just dress your local kobolds like the Beagle Boys and that's pretty much a civ of raccoon thieves.

When I had an artifact stolen by wildlife, the artifact creator strangely didn't get any thought on that. I suppose with teh assumption of "artifacts cannot be destroyed, ever" there never was a thought coded for the loss of an artifact.

I wish I could make thieving raccoons auto-steal any useless toys or jewelry artifacts that my dwarves make. That'll teach 'em.

Yeah, I had a rhesus monkey take off with an artifact spear in .40d (dwarf left it on the battlefield and nobody fetched it) and it didn't seem to bug the creator of the thing any.
