My craftdorf is a jerk
« on: July 13, 2010, 06:04:28 pm »

Why does he refuse to make bolts for me? I have bone and wood, he has both skills, but I don't even get the option to select em. Am I missing something obvious?

Are his labours switched on? Skills are not the same as Labour Permissions. I also assume you're trying to do this at a Craftdwarf's Shop and not anywhere else.

Congrats, Psieye. This is the first time I've seen a derailed thread get put back on the rails.

"Don't even get the option?" You are doing this at a craftsdwarf shop, correct?

Yeah I'm at the craftshop and it shows that bolts can be made but I don't get a letter to actually choose to make em. I believe I have my labor prefs set but I'll double check.

Then just scroll to the bolts and make them.

Or use the manager, that's easier and much more comfortable anyway. (u-m).

Use +-*/ to scroll through the menus.

+-*/ on the numpad to be exact.

You know, I only use the manager to make soap. Then again, I actually like micromanagement. *shrug*

I like micromanagement, but I hate how clunky moving the cursor is.

If you right click with your mouse, it re-places the cursor on your mouse pointer. Just FYI.

play with the cursor for a while and it is quicker than a mouse.

Quicker than the mouse when selecting a large square of whatever.

I usually use the mouse to place my cursor and then use Shift and the arrows to move it to designate a large area.
