I usually steal exotic animals off the elves to train into war creatures. Not the exotic untrainable ones, just things like gorillas and giant desert scorpions. Keeps it interesting.

Have them all stuffed in a cage out front, with a lever that releases them.  However, upon release, they all ran into the trade depot, or around the enemy.  Bob the war tiger found his prey, though.  (War tigers can be trained w/o dungeon master for some reason.)
I'm still very new to the game, so could I ask how you put pets into cages?

It isn't a new Dwarf Fortress version until we're made to fear some kind of regular creature.  Carp, Elephants, Unicorns, Badgers, and now Mosquitos.  I've got 5 dorfBucks on the next one being plagues of groundhogs.

i gave up on war dogs back in 40d i alternate between war tigers,lions,elephants,and yes the ultimate 5000 kilo war LAND CARP. 8)

I'm still very new to the game, so could I ask how you put pets into cages?


build a cage, wherever you want, then q>a and assign the animals you want
to take the animal out q>a then unassign them

A pack of wolves just entered my map, and one of them ripped one of my war dogs to shreds without even getting that injured in the process.
