I have some fine Unicorn corpses, freshly slaughtered, and none of the merchants will trade me for them! Not even 10 coins!

What am I doing wrong?

A corpse by itself has no value at all.

Is there currently a way for a lone adventurer to butcher them? Or will unicorn corpses become my throwing weapon of choice from now on?

I have no idea, I haven't played adventurer mode in a while. The dev log mentioned something about sharpening a rock and using it to butcher things.

Drop them on the ground, have some kind of a edgy weapon in your hand (knife, sword) press x and then choose butcher->Unicorn Corpse

I'd also suggest picking up  Lofln's (I think it was him) ADV_Mode Crafting mod.  I also had one that allows for crude bone figurines worth a  tiny bit of money, but it's still mainly guess work for how much stuff is worth.
