I have absolutely no idea what's going on in this fort any more. Migrants arrive, they die for some reason, the fort is flooded for another reason, then dwarves go mad, more dwarves die and I'm just laughing in my distress.

It's so delicious and moist

Turn 31: Necromancers and Destruction Magi Never Learn

Quote from: Tarran
Flip a gold coin in the air and pretend to look at it, if the demons look at it, slice open all three of their necks. Otherwise if they don't look at it, just stab the one that's talking in the head.
[5] vs [4][3][4]. All three demons look up at the coin. [4-1] vs [4-1][5-2][6-1]. The latter two demons in the swing jump backwards, avoiding your attack, while the first does better, ducking and using the time it takes to complete your swing to move up and punch you in the jaw.
+2 Feint
Take minor damage, now Lightly Wounded.

Quote from: Ochita
Draw water from around the area and form ice needles, then drive all those needles into that plant monster. Also give Hmh his robe back.
[2+1][Luck 2] You fail to draw significant water from the parched landscape, and your meager needles don't even reach the target.

Quote from: RandomNumberGenerator
Zap the plant monster with lightning
[5][Luck 4] You expertly channel lightning at the monster, thoroughly shocking it with admittedly mild power. (Resist 2) It doesn't handle it well.
+4 Lightning
Now Apprentice Lightning Magic
New Spell: Basic Lightning
Plant monster lightly wounded, now Lightly Wounded.

Quote from: Flagrarus
Have a battle of wills with the abomination, trying to get control over its body instead of the other way around.
[5-2][Luck 5] You attempt to reverse the situation, but it's a difficult task and you only partially succeed. (Resist 5) It manages to fight off your control, which is unfortunate because you would have stunned part of it otherwise. You're fighting as an equal on that note, but the runes are still strong on you and it could go either way.
+6 Plant
Now Adept Plant Magic
New Spell: Plant Puppet Reversal

Quote from: wolfchild
Summon a fire elemental IN the wind one and have it attack the plant, dismis the wyvern for now 1st
[1] The wyvern is enraged at your dismissal and becomes hostile. [5-2][Luck 3] You manage to summon a weak fire elemental into the air elemental, but it doesn't take particularly well. In fact, the air elemental is mostly in control and has wisps of fire streaming around it now. [1+2] vs [3+1] Remarkably, the spunky fire elemental seizes control anyway. [5-1] It proceeds to attack the plant. [4] vs [5+2] The plant's spinning blades disperse the elemental somewhat, and it roils back to recover.
+3 Fire Magic
Wyvern now hostile. Rogue air elemental now fused with weaker loyal fire elemental, must roll each turn to establish dominance.
Elemental combo now moderately wounded.

Quote from: Paranatural
Banish my Monolith and Pillars back to where the came from. Have them retract back into the earth.
[6-1][Luck 2] You gracefully slide the pillars and monolith remnants back into the earth, but they create a shockwave regardless.
+3 Earth
New Spell: Hammerfall

Quote from: Frelock
Fire laser at the plant from fingertips.
[4-1][Luck 4] You can focus only a very weak laser, but it at least inflicts some damage. Maybe light magic is not the most destructive school.
+4 Light
New Spell: Laser
Minor damage dealt to plant monster.

Quote from: HmH
Get in my robe. Throw a high-power explosive fireball at the plant.
[2][Luck 1] You produce an impressive incendiary explosion. As usual, you are in the middle of it.
+2 Destruction
Take moderate damage, now Heavily Wounded.

Shockwave
Seymore [1] vs [3]. Seymore is unfazed.
Nathan [2] vs [1]. Nathan is unbalanced (-1 RTD)
Sargoth [1] vs [3] Sargoth is unfazed.
Ochita [2] vs [1]. Ochita is unbalanced (-1 RTD)
Fre [5] vs [2]. Fre is dazed (-1 to all actions)
Flagro [3] vs [4] Flagro is unfazed.
Abomination [6][3][2] vs [3+3][3+3][4+3] The massive, spread-out plant monster is unaffected by the shockwave.

Enemies:
[1+2] vs [3+1] The wyvern dive bombs Seymore, who rolls out of the way.

The three demons attack Tarran. [1][5][5] vs [4][3][3]. The first demon presses its attack and nearly loses its head for it. The other two are more astute, delivering powerful clawed blows to the overextended Tarran.
Heavy damage taken. Now Heavily Wounded.

[3] The plant-thing is vaguely aware of what to do. It lashes out at the closest injured target, Nathan. [3+2] vs [5-1] It deals only minor damage, but it isn't done yet. It next strikes the incapacitated target that damaged it, Fre. [2+2] vs [6-1] It gets a good whack in response. Finally, it tries to chop up Thorontur, its other aggressor. [1+2] vs [6+2]. The spinning blades come apart as the nimble elf expertly carves the monster like a roasted turkey.
Nathan takes minor damage, still Heavily Wounded.
Thorontur deals massive damage to plant monster, now moderately wounded.

Raise [1-1][Luck 5], Permanency [1-1][Luck 4] You somehow manage to raise a mindless nine-foot tall abomination that hungers for the living. It has glowing red eyes, hungry-looking teeth, and black "skin" that may or may not have been made purely from some sort of necromantic power. Fortunately, it's just a puppet under your control. In fact, it seems fairly irrevocably bound to you and is feeding off your life energy to sustain itself. Um...
+10 Necromancy
Now Adept Necromancer
Gained puppet minion.

Your new master chitters in delight at your reckless success.

"Eeeeexcellent. Now go, show our new power to the others. They will lead the way, and you will crush their feeble patrol in our name."

Several demons slosh through the water, stand there a moment, then begin sloshing in a different direction.

(For expediency's sake, I'll assume you follow. I can retcon it to something different if you have a different action. I'll also assume your new pet gives you a lift, as the waters are potentially toxic.)

The demons finally reach their target with you in tow: Another band of demons. Odd. They begin charging each other. The enemy has a dozen demons, while your escort is six. Hrm.

(Your puppet can be given standing orders to defend you, but that just means it's harder to get to you, making them more likely to attack the puppet instead. For the most part, controlling your puppet requires spending your entire action to do so.)

Plant abomination stops playing around next turn. Yes, it gets three actions at no penalty. That will get hideously dangerous soon.

There goes my luck streak.

Well, I have three options:

1: I can try to fight, which is almost guaranteed to end badly.
2: I can run, but if I fail I will almost surely die.
3: I can try to get whoever the statuette represents to help, but it's not likely to work.

In short, I'm kinda boned.

GUYS, HELP! I'M PRETTY SURE I'M IN A WORSE SITUATION THEN YOU GUYS ARE RIGHT NOW.

Drop the statuette on the ground along with my gold, sunstone, red gem and small yellow gems. Then PRAY AS HARD AS I CAN!

Also: I just realized that the scroll in my inventory might actually be important. Well, now's not the time to read it.

Unknown to most but the insane and the mystics, Tarran is actually Earth itself, as Earth is sentient like that planet in Avatar. Originally Earth used names such as Terra on the internet, but to protect it's identity it changed letters, now becoming the Tarran you know today.
Quote from: Ze Spy
Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

You mean you can't handle three demons on your own? Weakling. When I was your age, I could take down 10 demons and still be ready for more! Bah, I'll help you.

Note that there's still some distance between Tarran and the rest of the group. You'll probably have to make some sort of sprinting roll to get over there and still act this turn.
