Mass construction.

I support anything that makes playing humans easier. Of course with modding more human-specific things could be had, but for not mass construction is more important than a few details.

I would bet money Andrew has edited things retroactively, except I can't prove anything because it was edited retroactively.

My vote: Job Priorities

[Make it so ALL labours are enabled for each dwarf. Rather than activate/deactivate them, we simply move them up and down in the list to change the priority order in which they are done]

[This then just needs another (U)nit screen which just shows selectable units in one column, and the labour order of the selected dwarf on the right. Another skills/unit screen would be helpful that shows all the skills in one column and then another column with the name of each dwarf. Each dwarf would show in brackets the position in their skill list the selected skill is and the list would be organised from dwarves with the highest priority down to dwarves with the lowest (or which ever order you want)]

[That way in the first unit/skill screen you can fiddle with the labours for each dwarf from the one screen, OR move the priority of a labour for all dwarves in the second skill/unit screen]

[A labour like "Wait for higher duties" could be moved up and down to stop dwarves doing very low order jobs]

[Sorry for using my vote to make suggestions!  :)]

Is there a (d)esignate, (F)orbid option so we can select all the items on the ground outside during seiges and forbid them (hence stopping the siege dance)? I never use forbid or dump, so...

some of those would probably be much longer to do than others (longest would probably be siege stuffs, then underground diversity), all are (off course) interesting.

I'm hesitating between two (probably) shorter to implement suggestion, and additional parenthesis.

- proper stacking and Restacking code (so that we finaly can get to real dwarven economy without the game crumbling)

- stop fortress entrance dance.

I will go for the restacking stuff. I'd really like to get coin hoarding little bastards. And probably later thieves as well.

Although I would be more than happy to see all of these suggestions implemented, if I have to pick just one it would have to be.....

stop the stupid dwarves from going straight to the most dangerous part of the fort (the entrance dance), please!

I vote for more underground diversity (especially if that includes underground creatures respawning)

Better stack handling.  I want hauling to be more streamlined!

Job priorities.

close second: mass building
even closer third (would be 1st choice but I understand that on this subject the Great T has spoken): framerate improvements.

Semi-Off Topic Question One: One vote seems kind of black/white to me. Why not 10 votes from 10-1 ? I'm not saying that would be better - only wondering what the pros/cons of the different methods are. Starting a new thread on this one is probably a good idea.

Semi-Off Topic Question Two: Can anyone point me to a guide on how to improve framerate using traffic zones or whatnot?

What? No "allow customizable names of professions that don't end in 'man?'"

Very well then. I vote for designation of dumping.
