Aquifiers in the new version?

Why does it say it's an aquifier in embark screen when it's not present... especially around volcanoes???

Maybe you haven't found it yet. I'm wondering too, it's probably lower than the valley.

You can still use rivers and brooks for obsidian though.

If you don't have surface water, there is (virtually ?) always an underground lake that refills, underneath some cavern layers.

You could also have multiple biomes on your starting location, you saw the one with an aquifer at embark, but did your digging in the biome without one.

one might think so, but no, i dug in the desert where there was supposed to be one...

Maybe you haven't found it yet. I'm wondering too, it's probably lower than the valley.

You can still use rivers and brooks for obsidian though.

rivers and brooks increase lag, so i dont like them -.-
and im digging at the lowest level

and for the underground lake... Cool if its refilling, then its ok... but i still want my aquifier -.-

Let me guess, the aquifer was the topmost layer?

I am not sure why, but since I started playing back in 40d times this has been something I noticed.  If the topmost layer is shown as being an aquifer, it will not be wet when you actually embark.
