Dwarf Fortress 0.31.10 Released
« on: July 11, 2010, 04:53:17 am »

Download (Click refresh on your browser if it doesn't show up)

This thread is somewhat gratuitous, but, here it is.  I cleaned up a few of the glaring problems with the last one.

(*)fixed problem where your units would not recognize the nice people arriving on business as their friends
(*)stopped problem where removing a worn object in adv mode could leave you with two copies
(*)stopped seg-fault at quit in linux if sound wasn't initialized (oliver)

At least, I hope I set it all up right, since I'm going to bed now and won't be able to post any cleanup for a while.

Thanks Toady.

Like my brother said above, thanks sir Toady.
You are GOD.
Donating once again :].

Your commitment; going as far as to losing sleep to fix up some crucial bugs for us is applaud-worthy.

Let's hope there isn't another nasty bug to spoil the release!

Nicely done, bug fixes are always welcome, even if I hadn't seen any bugs yet myself. Out of interest, are certain creatures made of materials like stone and steam still completely invulnerable short of magma pooling them

EDIT: just saw the 0.31.09 thread, it would appear so. Are maces and hammers now decent?

I'm pretty sure they've always been decent. Instead of complete and utter decapitation, my legendary hammer and mace dwarves never fail to break almost every bone in the poor goblins that crosses it's path :D.

Do I get to keep my old saves with the new version?

I have yet to experience any problems running a save from a previous version. The "Arsenal Dwarf" has been nuked in the new version and no longer does anything. He essentially is just another Dwarf so don't worry about him ;]

Armok Toady be praised!
And who is to say the two of them aren't a single being? Armok demands death and destruction, and holds the power to change the world of DF.. Toady brings us tools of death and destruction, and holds the power to change the world of DF. Perhaps it's just a single schizophrenic god-thing playing with us mortal fools. Not that we aren't enjoying it too, of course.

BLOOD FOR THE TOAD GOD! *boots up df 31.10*

Hmm...so I have 2 Marksdwarf now and an Archery Range. Somehow they "spar" instead of practice shooting and one of them just became a Hammerdwarf (although he only has a Crossbow in his hand). What the hell? :D

hmm, they seem to be practicing using their crossbows without ammo... that's kinda interesting.

Also... Armok's Sweaty Balls Toady, I go to work, come back and you've put up 2 new versions? Damn you're good...

because that's not the dwarven way. Could you make more statues of Urist instead of an impossibly large one chiseled out of the mountain? Sure, you could. If you want to be called a ninny elf by all your friends.
