Grakelin if you are not going to give helpful advice then leave, I am not trolling, I do not troll (the reason I was muted was because of an arguement with a fellow forumite). My laptop overheated and shut off on me when I was 100 MB away, I turn it back on and it is right at the beggining when I started in the morning. Because apparently Print Screen doesnt work I took pictures with my shitty camera, uploaded them on my sisters shitty computer (wouldt upload to mine), put them on photobucket. And now they are here for you.

With some hope I connected my laptop to the router with some hope that it might speed up, it hasnt. Now it says the game is currently unavaible, fucking hell.

Also, The fact that your internet is borked isn't steam's fault.

I like Steam, it keeps me from having discs which will inevitably be lost, worn out from use, or useless due to losing the required serial.

Then again, I pay $100+ dollars a month to Comcast for cable and a 100mbps connection.

I still didnt see it, it wasnt easily viewable. It has updated now, but I have to update LIVE now. Why cant I just use my Xbox live account? Thats what I thought it was.

Windows live has been reason enough for me not  to buy one game or another. It always means you have fucked up control style menus (No, you can't change that in the settings) with little no mouse support. No private servers and stuck with a sucky matchmaking thing. In game controls are limited to a controller set.

So it basically screams "Cheap ass console game port".

I don't like consoles. I don't like controllers.


As for steam... well, I love the discounts when they have them, which is the only reason I buy steam games. The rest is pathetic. Their vac policy is fucked up, the fact you can lose hundreds of dollars worth of games all at the same time is very very fucked up, Offline mode being less than practical is also crappy. If your internet is being bad at the moment steam is also horribly fucked up. If their servers are busy, you also can't play games. The fact it downloads over 6-10mbs of whatever before you play any game (sometimes it doesn't, but always does it at least once when you started it up) is also very fucking annoying, specially on a bad internet day. Not being able to say no to patches is fucked up as well. From personal experience, the support is very slow and very retarded, they never admit its their fault (I reported a bug with steam, they pointed me to a flag in a game, which has nothing to do with steam, then to drivers that have nothing to do with my computer. I replied saying that the drivers weren't for my mother board and the problem was with steam code. Haven't heard from them in 2 months).

And so on and on.

It's basically a very crappy service with a lot of liabilities on the customer side and some awesome cheap promotions now and then.

I was in a hurry, they close GAME at 6:00 on Saturdays and I wanted to buy a game, found this one and bought it. I didnt have time to read all the fine print in the back, are you saying that you do that? You read all the fine print on the back of game covers? Well I dont, I'll do it next time.

Don't buy things when you're in a hurry, especially games.  A quality game is 20-60 dollars with very strict return policies.  So yeah, I read that stuff.

And VAC is the one thing I don't like about Steam.  I understand that there need to be strict penalties to keep the game from becoming a haxxfest, but hosing your entire library is pretty extreme.  Especially after seeing all the things Punkbuster freaks out about, I'm very paranoid about what's running when I'm playing a game.

No I don't read it all, but I do scan over the whole thing, and if I see it mentioning steam, well, it probably requires steam.

You don't need to set up a LIVE account for dawn of war 2. You just can't play online without doing so.
