I could just imagine her alarm clock going off at 3am and rushing downstairs in her nightclothes, through the tower, and into the library yelling "It's mine, I'm first!"

My action is now this. with the alarm being a rat or something she rigged to explode if possible.

I can just imagine her reaching the door to find me still locked in there studying/sleeping. Luckily, I'm done for now.

I test my new skills by exploring the catacombs, using void magic to break into any hidden chambers. I will find the chambers by using earth magic to sense holes in the stone

ok fine, but if Rath does not get a go, she is going to think she will never get in and be very pissed off, just warning you

if Rath does not get into the library, she starts threatening the use of void to get into the library

"Alright," she said, tucking into the slop, "your turn."

Alicia proceeds to learn Bone magic from Helfd.

Although Blood Magic was quite interesting, Helfd was exhausted and tired. And now that! Always that stupid grana root porridge. He barely stopped retching. With far more than a hint of cynism Helfd took the porridge and placed it on a table.

Oh thanks for the porridge, that's making my day! Well before i can teach you Bone Magic we first need some skeletons, i'm right back...

hastily Helfd gets out of the laboratory and runs down the stairs to the kitchen. Stumbling into it, his mouth forming sounds that seem like that of a zombie, he shoves several of the townsfolk aside to get to the pantry.

Ouuuuuut oooof my waaaaay

Happily gnawing on a whole fried chicken, Helfd makes his way down to the catacombs to get one of the skeletons.

Some time later back in the laboratory, Helfd has arranged his subjects for Alicia:
one of the living skeletons,
one skeleton from the catacombs,
and the vaguely gnawed off rests of a chicken.

while still licking his lips( and shooting several pitiful glances to the chicken), Helfd begins to teach Alicia the concepts of Bone Magic

I don't think you can. You haven't reached adept rank yet(I think) so you can only have one element.

The lesson progresses, but it soon becomes unhappily apparent that Alicia is failing to take the knowledge in.

"Alright, alright," she says, shaking her head.  "This is a bit much for me, I'm nowhere near grounded enough in the practical side of things."  She frowns.  "And knowing the others, either Rath or Dragnar have already booked the library.  I'm getting a bit sick of this, honestly.  How do you feel about helping me rebuild enough of the laboratory for some more practical learning?"

Alicia cancels that lesson, as she is unable to grasp the particulars of another Element yet.  Instead she works on refurbishing the laboratory with whatever materials she has access to, with the aim of Death, especially Blood-related research.

Orders to minions:
Without the equipment prepared for other plans (is the manaforge recharged?), Pretty is just allowed to roam the swamps.
The zombies are to continue guard duty, but servants are warned to keep distance.
Work is to continue on servant shelters, improving their quality of life.  A small shrine is to be erected to the Death Goddess, Valeia.
