Turn 1 - Where did Xan go?
Actions:First action: Study death magic.
You begin studying in the library in an attempt to improve your Death magic skill. [5] You make major progress this turn, revealings several new insights into the sphere. Xan never let you have unrestricted access to his library, and the amount of knowledge is amazing. You believe that one more turn like this one and you will have the knowledge to be considered an Adept.
Additionally, you have revealed the perks associated with Adept level sphere training:
Rank 2 - Adept- Mitigation of a critical failure - On a critical failure (Roll of a 1 on 1d6) the caster gets an additional 1d6 roll. On a 4-6 the failure is negated and the spell instead has no effect
- Limited to a single sphere
- May include a maximum of 2 elements
- Elements must be directly linked
Nevermind then, I'll work on the journal, then.
You attempt to decipher Xan's journals. They are extensive and seem to be in some form of code. [3] You make some small progress on deciphering the code. It will take more work before you are able to glean any useful information.
my action is to Search the catacombs for interesting stuff, and/or stuff to kill
adding to action; If i do find anything to kill, use void magic to strip away every part of its being, baring the bones, (or whatever i can do at my level)
You descend into the catacombs in search of something interesting, or at least something to kill. [5] You find a chamber which seems to have been sealed for hundreds of years, and inside are 25 carefully wrapped skeletal remains, each in ceremonial armor with a mace or sword at their side. It seems you have unearthed some sort of burial chamber for a group of warriors!
The catacombs are extensive, and there are many many more chambers to explore. You didn't find anything to kill, this time.
revive any skeletons wolfchild may find and send them back to the tower...
You are there when the 25 warriors are unearthed, and decide to try your hand at a little reanimation. [3] You cast the spell and draw the runes, and you think you have it correct, but something must have been off because only one of the bodies animate and it seems confused, running into walls repeatedly.
Alicia does the obvious thing and uses the Magic Mirror to attempt to contact Xan.
Taking the initiative, you attempt to contact your mentor with the mirror. [4] You invoke the mirror correctly and clearly say his name, but the reflection swirls darkly and the connection is not made. For some reason, the mirror cannot seem to find Xan!
Not a bad set of rolls all around, no outright failures or overshoots. I rolled these with physical dice in my handy dice tray.
Get your turn 2 actions up when you can.
