Eternal Halls, Here I come!

edit:strange, I seem to have forgotten how to open up the folder despite having done this 4-5 times before.
I've downloaded the file and opened up "Data"
I then opened up "save"
I placed the file folder down, but when I go to open it up in the game, I don't see it.

Maybe I got the version wrong.
What version is this game?
I have 0.31.12

Are you sure it's a folder? Because you keep saying file.

I think there's something bugged with the file.
I tried running the file contents on 0.31.12 and 0.31.10
I've also tried renaming the file, replacing the file with an existing file, redownloading the file (incase I just happen to get a corrupted folder) and trying it on a different computer, but none of it works.

edit: just tried it with a different EH folder. Still doesn't work for some reason.
Gonna try experimenting with it a bit more.

Umm... I'd like to request for some help.

I would like it if someone could download the current eternal halls, put it in the right DF folder, and upload the whole DF game.
No matter what I do, I just cannot seem to get the game to work.
Region folders from previous/other games still work, but just the EH one.

I really want to continue, but experiencing technical difficulties as of now.

You've just unpacked the .rar in your Dwarf Fortress\df_31_12\data\save, right?

(I've used 0.31.12, but it does not matter what version of 0.31.xx you're using)
The uploaded file is not corrupted, tried it out.

btw: how's my report?

cant say much considering that china firewall prevents me from seeing any images, although your written part is quite nice.

Yes, I've unpacked the file and placed it in its proper position, but it just refuses to work.

WHOOT! Thank you Arni.
It works now, although I still have no idea what went wrong with my other version.

I'll update the situation in a few days once I figure out how everything works.

note: just one question. What's with the unusual spiral staircase design and all the floor hatches covering it?

When you figured that out you're further than I was :P In case you're lazy; use the manager. He's highmaster now I think.

Making everythin less efficient. I think i blocked it off somewhere because cavecreatures (forgotten beasts) came through it.

all the floor hatches covering it?
Should prevent forgotten beasts comming through it i guess... Not very efficient though because the will just break free again.

Nevermind whatever I posted before

HERE'S AN UPDATE!

------------------------------------------------

I’ve just immigrated from the mountainhomes to the great dwarven fort known as “The Eternal Halls” I’ve received the offer to become leader for a year, and having previously heard rumors of its greatness, I could not refuse the offer.

Upon arrival to this fort, I checked the current economic situations and things seems quite sound with a good amount of wealth as well as an abundance of food, drink, and meals.

The population as of now is

4 miners
8 woodworkers
5 marksdwarves
2 woodcutters
9 stoneworkers
1 baroness
9 metalsmithies
8 swordsdwarf
3 guards
A leatherworker, a clothier, a woodcrafter
2 fisherdwarves
Bunch of farmers (that includes butchers/millers/cooks ect.)
3 medical dwarves
2 clerks
9 kids
And…

A god emperor?
(whatever that might be)

With a total population of 84 dwarves
There is one thing however which reallllllly bugs me however, and that is the lack of engineers.

Being an architect/mechanic at heart, I have a weak spot for unnecessarily elaborate designs of both ascetic and mechanical constructions. I will make sure I undergo my soul separating meditation and take over the body of a dwarf I deem suitable for my favorite role.

Judging from the military, I can see that the previous rulers seem to have a liking for marksdwarves and swordsdwarves. I’ve never gotten around to liking crossbows, always preferred to bash things with something solid rather than shooting sticks at my enemies, but I guess they will come useful, judging from the frequency of buzzard raids written in the records of previous rulers.

I see one of the previous rulers have put aside some time to make some decent quality burial tombs. Maybe I’ll claim a room once I get things working here.

The zoo here, although small, is certainly quite entertaining. While there are mostly crundles and foxes for display, there is also a blind cave ogre as well as a certain creature that I took a particular interest to.
I’ve even drawn a sketch of the rather disturbing yet unusually intriguing creature.

The jail is certainly well designed with what almost looks like a giant bloodstain trailing on the left. Now if only they increased the size of the bottom two rooms a bit more...

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The kitchen, while a mess, is certainly quite lively.

I see they’ve even established a magma forge base down in the depths.

The previous rulers appear to be constructing a magma pump, but haven’t quite finished up yet. I will see to it that its construction shall continue.

This shall be an interesting fort indeed.
