Making 'Friends' with the Elves

I embarked on an elven city. What sort of 'friendly', dwarvenly gesture do you think I should make towards them? Or perhaps they can stand outside where the evil siege parties pass through.

Love and care for them as if they were your dwarven brethren.

Magma piston on their main group. You know where you dig down and drop a large section of earth into the magma sea and it sends all of it to the surface?

Well, they are about 50 strong and are mainly centered on the map.

Magma is tempting, but I suddenly thought, how about trapping them all, dropping them down a hole, and subsequently drop incoming goblins, Snakemen, and anything else that wanders towards my dwarves. When I get bored, I can just flood them with magma later ^^.

I say trap them all and then drop them on incoming enemies. Have it be your only fort defense (aside from walls/etc)

The level of elf love in that thread is amazing.

Gentlemen, I have the solution to the elven problem.  We must breed them!

Think about it.  siege numbers go up in a linear fashion, while elf population increases exponentially.  Not even a dragon could withstand an onslaught of over a hundred malnourished elven children, their tiny fists and teeth exacting dwarven justice.  Unleash the progeny horde upon your enemies!

Besides, given the cornucopia of penalties for elves (weak little things!), millions will probably die before taking down a single goblin. It's a win-win situation.  Either you dwarvanize the elven race, and/or thousands of them die in the process.

If there is any doubt still left in your mind, which is understandable given the behaviour of elves in the past, imagine a burning goblin tower, a patter of little feet, and a short elven toddler bursting into the antechamber, his eyes wild, his face bloody, his body dressed in rags.  Above him, upon abnormally thin arms, is hefted the high goblin priest's severed head.  He screams a high pitched death cry, and millions more like him plunge into the room, a veritable wave of brainwashed dwarven fury, contained within their fragile elven bodies.

Their parents look on in a combination of awe and horror.

This.  This is the future.  We must begin work immediatly!  Construct the breeding chambers!

That was the most beautiful thing I've ever read.
I'm now going to try and drive as many elves as I can berserk, and set them upon my enemies.
