Someone came up with a setup that allows you to draw magma up to the surface quickly and without FPS issues (vs a pump stack) by basically dropping a gigantic rock block into the magma sea, thus displacing it into a prepared cistern several dozen z levels upward. True dwarven engineering.

I've played a few other open ended inde-sim games that are turning complete, and have had similar things made for them. Actually calculators seem to be the go-to application to prove a game is touring complete.

LittleBigPlanet is turing complete: you can make logic gates out of its tools trivially. People have made (among other things), a clock, calculator, adders, etc.

There are actually a lot of games out there that are Turing complete. You just have to be creative and/or crazy enough (mostly crazy) to do it.

I love how people get all prissy and elitist over this. I've played DF for a while and I loved it. The past tense is critical there. You guys keep jerking yourselves off by going on about how if you don't love this game then you have a lesser intelligence, which is kind of hilarious.
