If he says [something]'s lame without any explanation, then

... he's actually twelve.

Who the hell voted yes on the poll?

The impossibility of DF being lame caused their relatively weak brains to lapse into a seizure. When trying to vote NO their hands twitched and caused the mouse to click about a centimeter higher.

To be 100% honest, Boatmurdered is entirely underwhelming.

:(

Boatmurdered is great imo. Maybe Bronzemurder is a better illustration for starters though ;-)

I voted yes for teh lulz.

Show him some mega project stuff. There's always plenty of win in those things! Just get who you're trying to convince and fire up their imagination.

Whoops, I accidentally voted for the wrong one. Discount one of the yes votes. (Though I'm not sure what the point of this poll is)

My gf can't actually see Dwarf Fortress. She just calls it 'squiggles'. It is utterly meaningless to her. I showed her my trail of magma leaking from a volcano into a giant magma cistern that automatically shuts off the volcano when it's full.

She said, ".........................neat."

Thank's hon! We'll watch that movie tommorow ok? *guilt* *guilt* *guilt*.

In this world, there are people who just can't grasp certain abstract concepts. Modern over-graphic'd games have mainstream profile because there is very little a player needs to do to get immersed - no imagination required at all. DF is for people who can put some mental effort into immersion from interpreting 'abstract' symbols. No matter how easy and slight that mental effort may be to us, there are some people who just can't do it, even if they want to.

Who the hell voted yes on the poll?

Me, because it's funny how indignant people get.

Taking the slightest option for causing disruption and mayhem and getting all you can out of it is the very essence of what Dwarf Fortress is all about. Or at least I guess so. I haven't actually heard of it :(

Stop complaining about the yes votes. Never give the trolls what that want.

People also voted "What is dwarf fortress?". That clearly doesn't mean that 13.2% of the people voting on this poll have no idea what dwarf fortress is.
